Take a deep breath queen. All this outrage is uncalled for. No one Is calling for throwing people out on the street. Landlords and tenants both have significant bills to pay. We’re saying that both should receive a pass at the moment because it’s unfair to put them both in a position where they have to pay when they both may be unemployed.

But it seems that your anger is simply because you admire and aspire to have a communist regime, which is a whole different story. No shade, but some of these presidential candidates most of you idolize own several properties and have several top dollar investments, but they’re here making you think they’re for the working people.

As I said, if you don't own rentals you'll never know the expenses. Just remember we too have financial obligations. We have mortages and loans to pay off. If we don't pay it off the banks take the property back. 

The bank then more than likely evict all the renters. Renovates it and rent it for even higher. So go the hell off

i haven't idolized anybody. i follow values, not people. also i assume you're talking about us presidential nominees which i'm not following as i'm not from the us.

then the government should intervene and help pay the rent. But you can't blame the landlord. Both the tenant and the lanlord are on the same boat. From what I read it seems that the landlord should stay with 0 income and be silent.

That's the dilemma. Everyone uses rehetoric like landlords are always evil rich ppl that don't care about their tenants and don't need the money

 

I don't know about the US but here in Canada with the housing crisis and exorbitant home prices many ppl genuinely CANNOT pay their mortgages without renting part of their house

 

People are are having to pay $800,000 to $1,200,000 homes on salaries of $50,000 or $60,000 a year and renting out part of your house is the only way to pay their mortgages 

 

If u wanna ban evictions, you also have to ban foreclosures from banks. It has to be both otherwise non-paid rents just means many landlords will just loose the house (and eventually the tenent looses the place too anyway)

For my rentals I actually waived rent for one month under one condition - they had to buy groceries and medicines to stock up on with the same money the would pay rent with and present me with the receipts. I also dropped the rent by 50% for another three months. So that's four months of help they will get. In that way I'll still be able to pay the bills and make a little something for myself. After these four months that's all I could offer to help my tenants. They agreed because they knew no other landlord would take them atm, give them one month rent free or would drop the rent by 50% for another three months. 

I normally schedule a raise on the rent every four years. The next rent raise is scheduled for 2024 however, once this crisis is taken care of, I'll raise the rent September 2021 in order to make back the money I'll lose this year and continue with my normal 2024 rental raise. 

Some of these landlords are just flat out dumb and have no money management. 

Now this is a compromise.

You are assuming the first raise in the rent will be as significant as the rental raise in 2024. It won't be. It will be a raise in such that I brake even when the books are balanced in 2022. And by the way, landlords a lot of the times raise the rent every two or three years. I raise mine every four years.

I have an experience on both sides: I'm on a rent, and I will pay next month regularly as always. Meanwhile, I'd expect the tenants that are renting my mother's house to do the same, otherwise I'll drag their ass out of that damn house  since my mom depends on that rent to pay her bills.

This is a pretty nasty post but I guess I'm not that surprised considering who made it. I hope this statement comes back to haunt you later now isn't the time to be acting like this.

Most ppl here will not understand that. Anyone with even a hint of power or assets is automatically on the hate wagon cuz it's so popular to hate on any degree of success or perceived priveledge what's so ever

 

If u own a property (even if ur not rich, high income and struggle urself) people will not see ur point of view
