These people are not real progressives, and we WILL NOT claim them. They don't belong to the Bernie movement. His better future isn't here, he hasn't fulfilled most, if any, of his promises, and those voters believe Bernie is their last hope. If it's Biden (the Hillary / old system candidate) versus Trump, they either give up and write in Bernie or they vote for Trump and hope another four years will see him somehow come through for them the way they thought he would in 2016. The Bernie Bros narrative is a mainstream agenda to make people hate Bernie because of his supporters. Studies show only 3% of his online supporters are these mean, "attack everyone" jerks that the media paints his whole base to be. Half of Bernie's supporters today supported Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg, or Kamala Harris before those three dropped out. I supported Bernie in 2016. In 2019, my first pick was Pete Buttigieg until he went back on all of his Progressive promises and started acting like a Republican. Marianne Williamson was my second choice but was painted as a crazy woman by a the MSM after she attacked the military industrial complex. Bernie and Elizabeth were tied for my third choice. The minority of Bernie supporters who voted for Trump in 2016 didn't see it as voting for a Republican. They saw the election as "the old system" politician versus the anti-government politician, and they figured Trump was the only candidate who might actually change the system in their favor. They were stupid for that, but that's how much this country needed / needs a change for the people. The reason we lost and will lose again isn't "Bernie Bros." It's the establishment painting pictures of radicalism to get their perfect political puppet to become the nominee. And with Biden, it will backfire more than ever. The only way the party can get him to make any sense most days is if they shove their hand inside and move his lips for him.
