OT: I don't think there's nothing to restart, though. Nothing has happened besides Stupid Love and its MV, they will probably just continue with the 2nd single. I think I meant less that there would actually be a new lead single and more theoretically the hype would've gone down, they'd have to have another big moment, with big promotion, to remind people the album is coming... I feel like Gaga isn't going to do anything more with SL until this has all blown over and by that point it won't exactly be a great place to start marketing with the new album. There were several weeks where she could have at least performed something/somewhere before COVID-19 lockdowns started. I think she would have released another single (probably ROM) before the release of the album even if she didn't delay it. Judging by her post it seems like she’s taking 2-3 months to figure everything out. Releasing in fall is a logistically nightmare and she’ll be competing with other artists looking to do promo spots. I did some stalking and noticed you have a marketing background. Love that. But yeah, she theoretically will restart the new era because it kinda feels like it's put on hold at the moment. However, they might communicate it with something like "journey to Chromatica is back on! But yes, even though she'll probably continue the Chromatica visuals from Stupid Love, the promotion for Rain On Me will certainly be more robust than Stupid Love. In the coming weeks, we will have the second single, whose MV will be a continuation of SL and then the album release date. We know Gaga is an activist at heart, she always has been, and due to everything that is going on in the world with COVID-19, I think she is going to pause the release of the album - and anything related to it - until she has done her bit and the virus has began to decrease. I think that although it seems like everyone else has continued their album roll-outs (e.g. Dua, Weeknd), they merely were seeing them through... Gaga actually had barely began her campaign and I think she would feel selfish promoting for people to 'buy her new single' 'watch her new video' 'pay for her concert' at a time of severe crisis. This is obviously why she didn't perform last night too, she doesn't want to be talking about herself - in any sense - when there is a pandemic happening. It's clear from early interviews Gaga wanted to make an album people could listen to and ENJOY, I think she'd feel strange knowing the world couldn't fully enjoy and express themselves to her new music whilst the virus is still a global concern... This is probably the most wise thing to do, we all know how Gaga is sensitive to these issues (see Five Foot Two) and she is probably looking out for her own family and her own health as #1. See you in June/July! Reveal hidden contents although I could be completely wrong and she'll drop Rain On Me next Friday ... we'll see, she is, as we know, an enigma I was thinking the same thing. The backlash she would face in this global pandemic if she released another song would be pretty bad, considering the seriousness of what is happening around the world. I absolutely think she is doing the right thing by pausing all talk and anything involving Chromatica until after the COVID-19 pandemic passes.
