Economy 52,861
I've heard suicides among youth are going up but I don't know which Countries they were refering to. Edit: Don't know if that was generalized or if they were talking about individual cases like this: https://scoop.upworthy.com/italian-nurse-commits-suicide-italy-covid-19-death-toll-rises
Chromatic Lover 868
I just hope we could find a vaccine soon and we could get rid of this virus. Everyone is hit by this but the vulnerable to these drastic changes in the economy suffers the most. It's really sad
Francesca Cipriani 1,668
Yes, considering the lockdown will last until mid April, or even early May, the situation will get worse... too many people lost the job because it's all closed: restaurants, shops, hotels... I don't wanna repeat Trump's words about the cure being worse than the illness itself but I'm seriously starting to wonder if it will get to a point where for once in his life he said something with some degree of point
Guest MJHW
Guys, I'm Italian, and here our main problem is that hospitals are pushed to the limit... of course it's getting clear the economy crisis: industries are gonna fire lot of workers because they ain't got money... for now I haven't heard of growing suicide or huge and scary revolt... but people will respect the quarantine for no longer than one (2 if strictly necessary) month... There is no way that leaving it unchecked for the sake of the economy/job market would be better, it just means the healthcare system will collapse quicker and more people will end up dead. Unfortunately, social distancing really is the only way forward for now.

But the vast vast majority of people end up being worse off Not to mention deaths that poverty causes too directly and indirectly On an overall basis harm vs good I seriously question if the degree of lockdowns are really worth it For me, im gonna have to manage with 0 income starting next month and good luck to me finding a job right now

Not the time to post “maybes” That's why I made it a seperate post and said "I heard" and I didn't put it in OP. I know it isn't a fact. Pplake side points all the time. My mom is the one that heard it so I just said "I heard". I never stated it as a fact And I did not agree with Trump's talk I said "I wonder" which is very different do not appreciate my words being twisted around Edit: maybe my mom was talking about this https://www.google.ca/amp/s/m.jpost.com/international/italian-nurse-with-coronavirus-commits-suicide-fearing-to-infect-others-622320/amp https://scoop.upworthy.com/italian-nurse-commits-suicide-italy-covid-19-death-toll-rises
