I would be living! She can use $1-2/album purchase on iTunes or physical copies to be donated to a health organization to get help to those in need. I think that is brilliant...

The head is also terrible at PR and twitter in general....he's thanked celebrities (including Gaga, in the past) for telling people to stay at home but never made a real PSA. The fact that he thanked Gaga again means she obviously donated money..he's not just going to randomly thank her for a phone call...but instead of tweeting "thank you for the donation, I encourage other celebrities to open their wallets to fund efforts to fight Corona"...he tweets a somewhat messy tweet. I'm sure people realize he's thanking her for money (some fans called them out in the receipts, and the critical tweets acknowledged that was probably it), but everyone is so angry and raw right now at WHO, celebs, the "elites," etc.

To be fair, I saw a lot of tweets that were more directed at the director than Gaga. Even a few non-fans who were like "good for Gaga for doing this" and then going off on the WHO.

I'm guessing she's more or less crossfire than the direct target.

Yep. Which is why I'm kind of glad Gaga is staying so silent....even if she posted a cute "wash your hands PSA," she would get dragged for filth. She needs her PR team to work for once, though, and drop a line to People that she donated cash to WHO. I understand she does a lot of it privately, but between the WHO tweet (it's obvious she donated money, but angry people ignore the obvious) and her Dad she could use a tiny bit of good PR. Even then, though, there would probably be some backlash.

That said, good for her. I know donating a large sum of money to multiple organizations- charity, community resources, large-scale organizations like WHO- is minimally good enough to begin with, considering she is rich and is a celebrity with a large scale of influence. But I wonder what else they discussed?

She really is out here trying to save the world.

He's actually terrible and there are serious issues with WHO....BUT it's one of the more obvious, and better, places to donate money right now as they can provide immediate relief and she must have donated a lot to get a personal thanks from him again (he previously thanked celebs for telling people to stay at home). So we should still be proud of her even if WHO is meh.
