PinkJelly 1,825 Posted March 28, 2020 Share Posted March 28, 2020 I’m hopeful that if we all get through this, one of the good things to come out of it (at least here in the U.K.) is government properly funding services like the NHS, palliative care, charities that support or run food banks, police, the welfare system etc. You have no idea how many people who’ve now lost their jobs, are self isolating or have had their hours dramatically reduced because of Covid-19 and are complaining that Universal Credit and/or Statutory Sick Pay isn’t enough to live on - people who relied on these sorts of benefits before this health crisis have been trying to tell the government that for years. I'm hoping that all free enterprise capitalistic economic policy makers re-think the priorities in favor of the general wealth not just corporate bottom line...
