Was Gaga's statement misleading?

So, this...

...is, surely, totally misleading and contrary to what she must know by now.

How can she say in such a sure way that she is 'definitely' planning to continue the tour?

I mean, I'm 90% sure she already knows it's not happening.

A tour takes a lot of preparation and planning. From the stage design, costume design, backdrop creation, choreography sessions, rehearsal time... it would take a good few months to plan. And the vast majority of it could not be executed remotely, or in self-isolation.

But, then, I don't understand why she'd promise something so falsely. I don't think she'd outrightly lie, especially not when already delaying the album.

Surely her team don't really think the tour can go ahead?

Maybe, at a push, public events will be back on in July (highly unlikely, though) - but that doesn't explain how on earth she's going to get the show on the road in the meantime.

Let's say we're in self-isolation until, what, sometime in May?

She's then got between May - July to put the show together, whilst ALSO releasing the album and delivering all she originally planned.

It's just not realistic.

So why did she say this? Was it solely to soften the blow, knowing full well it's not happening?

If so... :hmm:

You answered it yourself.

I really don't want to believe that, though.

I know it makes sense - but I'd really hate if it was just a lie... especially considering the album delay, you know?

I understand you but the situation in Europe and USA is not getting any better.. Please just expect the worst and then if it happens you'll not be disappointed :vegas:

Oh no, I totally know and accept that the tour will be cancelled.

My issue is that Gaga would lie that it 'might' happen, whilst already - probably - knowing herself that it's already been cancelled. I don't think it's fair that she'd deliberately give us false hope, if she knew it had been cancelled.

The tour will have to happen eventually.... for sure not as planned, but touring is part of her job, so the tour is inevitable. She probably didn't want to outright postpone it at this moment, because it would seem like the whole era is cancelled, but she can still work on the musical arrangements, concept ideas, have skype meetings with costume designers and various collaborators.

either way, at that point after the economic recession, are people really going to start spending their coins on concerts?

or is just my point of view from a third world country?

also even if things are "better", that doesn't mean the virus would stop existing, like going to a 10k+ crowded concert doesn't seem like the best option after the pandemic

Sorry yeah, postponed.

Even still - isn't it really off that she'd pretend it hasn't been postponed?

I mean, she literally said she looks forward to seeing us in the summer.

There's no way she doesn't know otherwise to that.

I don’t think things will be resolved to an adequate degree by May. This social distancing thing could go on until the end of summer :/ China’s number of infections are going down yet in spite of that they are still enforcing social distancing measures and restricting business.

I have a feeling Chromatica won’t be coming out for another year.

In my country people where talking about huge blow this covid19 pandemic is provoking in the show business world. We literally have dozens of festivals during the summer that generate a lot of money. Everyone is still praying that at some of them can go ahead, some of them are huge and have international stars. The other day, one of organizers was saying that if the situation gets better, they would have to rush things out, adapt but it was manageable. But to be honest it's all depending on the pandemic evolution. Idk how this will turn out to any artists, Gaga included.

I think she's optimistic, but probably knows inside that it will most probably need to be postponed. That being said, some concerts that had been planned this month or the next have been postponed to eg. October, but also to July, August, so I dunno.

Eh, everything is so up in the air right now. But Wonder Woman 1984 was postponed to early August....and you know WB would have put a ton of research into possible dates because that's a film that will probably make a billion bucks at the box office. So for WB to make that gamble, a lot of the entertainment industry must expect things to be back to normal, or semi-normal, but then....

So it's feasible Chromatic remains the same and isn't postponed...because the first date is the last week of July.

THIS

I think she's just really optimistic and wants to believe it will happen until it's 100% confirmed cancelled

but the thing with rescheduling is no one really knows when this is all gonna be over so it's all a hopeful guessing game rn

Pop Music and Lady Gaga forever!

Honestly, this would be resolved quicker if more people actually followed social distancing :(. Germany and Singapore kind of have it under control, and the corner has turned in some other places.

It's all sort of guess work. The fact that WB pushed Wonder Woman 1984 back to August makes me think the entertainment industry believes things will go back to semi-normal by then....I wouldn't be surprised if she drops Chromatica in July and pushes the first few Chromatica Ball dates back...but keeps the August dates. I could also see the album out in July and the tour pushed back by several months.
