I remember her debut album and I hadnt been so blown away by a debut for a while at the time. Cool is one of my faves for sure, I love the quirky little squeaks in her voice. Hallucinate is insane it gives me an early 2000s UK girl group vibe and I'm not sure why just yet? Boys Will Be Boys was a nice surprise and good way to end the album for sure. The only tracks I needed a second listen to were Pretty Please and Levitating but now I think they're great as well. Im glad disco and funk influences are coming into pop music though they’ve been in R&B for the last few years so i can’t wait for more R&B and Pop songs with disco and funk sounds this decade which is why I said "currently", girl no pop album in recent memory has been able to hang on to a 90+ metacritic score like this so, depending on the incoming reviews, it will probably stay in the mid 80s who will love me when the night is over

Plus the album as a whole isn’t that strong, the electro-pop sound of most of it is kinda meh and flat and the singles are the strongest songs, Pretty Please is probably gonna be the next single because it’s the only other decent song imo. It’s a good album to have fun to I will admit but come 2021 it’ll be long forgotten especially after Chromatica, R9 and beyonce’s next releases eclipse it in the fall. DeanWinchester 41,390
Amazing album the production is sooo slick. It's just good pure pop from start to finish. Did she sample a lot of old songs? I thought I heard 2 Madonna samples like Impressive Instant, and another song from a different artist back from the 90s. The GP is not gay twitter. Yes, Carly and others have already done it but what sets Dua apart is that she is an artist with major GP appeal doing disco in an era where "pop" is considered mumble rap. and again, "the album as a whole isn't that strong" when it is literally being critically acclaimed by everyone so forgive me for favouring the opinion of professional critics over music forum gays. The vast majority that have something negative to say are Gaga fans which is SUCH a crazy coincidence who will love me when the night is over
n1kos 5,119
My top 5 : DSN, physical, cool, hallucinate, break my heart The album is great but it's like I'm hearing the same song on repeat , like Can't stop this feeling by J Timberlake!! I would like to listen something more electronic or a pop ballad not only this typical 80s-90s sound, it's a bit boring! I'm not a fan of her but I will listen her songs for a couple of days! Good luck!! I will fly on a challenger across the sky like a phoenix..

The vast majority that have something negative to say are Gaga fans which is SUCH a crazy coincidence Pop is definitely not “mumble rap” also what even is mumble rap if you’re on about all those Male rappers that were popular like 5 YEARS AGO when pop is in a more R&B-Funk fusion centric space currently. Also radio means nothing in 2020 because all the artists who’ve done this are getting STREAMING which is what matters and music goes beyond mainstream white pop girls, we’re not gonna discredit all the black artists that have been putting disco and funk into their music the last decade almost just for some half baked electro-pop album by a white girl... and I’d trust myself personally more than a critic because I ain’t being paid for it and it’s subjective I understand but gays need to stop with this notion that just because some boring white pop girl does it it’s suddenly new and amazing, would y’all be going wild if some virtually unknown black artist made this album? Or a gay man? Probably not. And if they made it I’d still say the same it’s a 6/10 it has 4 good songs (3 of which are the singles) and the rest is meh. Lets take the album for what it is; alright but we won’t care about it come the end of the year at all
Bloody 64,631
I've given 3 full listens to the album and I like it. The 4 singles that were released were definitely the best tracks on the album. Props to her team for the choices. In my opinion it's not the 2nd coming of Jesus like some fans make it seem. It's a great pop album, but nothing groundbreaking. Actually she's not delivering something original, she's just bringing an old sound back and she's making it more modern. Personally, I didn't enjoy the samples in Love Again and Good in bed & Boys will be boys are the least impressive songs. Physical> FN> Don't Start Now> Break my heart> Hallucinate> Pretty Please> Cool> Levitating> Boys will be boys> Good in bed > Love Again A 8/10 for me, I'm really enjoying this record. Future Nostalgia: 3/10 - I hate the talk singing, it feels very forced and try hard and doesn’t suit her. The chorus is cute I guess. 2. Don’t Start Now: 6/10 - I liked it when it came out, it’s not terrible but it’s not amazing either. It was so overplayed on the radio here so I wouldn’t choose to listen to it. 3. Cool: 9/10 - I LOVE this. It feels like a Katy Perry song but better. I’m obsessed with 80s inspired pop instrumentals like this, it sounds good with her voice! 4. Physical: 4/10 - Not a fan. 5. Levitating: 0/10 - This is horrible. 6. Pretty Please: 2/10 - Sounds like a Selena Gomez song. 7. Hallucinate: 5/10 - It’s cute, nothing special. 8. Love Again: 1/10 - Uninspired and sounds very 2015. 9. Break My Heart: 3/10 - I hate the drop, I’m not a fan of that melody and it’s just not it. 10. Good In Bed: 2/10 - Feels dated and I hate it melodically. It feels very Meghan Trainor. 11. Boys Will Be Boys: 5/10 - I like some parts of the melody and the message but some of the writing is kinda clunky. Overall the album is a 3/10, most of it sounds very filler and try hard to me and I’m just not a fan of her voice at all. I guess I can appreciate she’s trying to be edgy and “bringing back” a particular pop music sound (even though Carly did this sound a LOT better), but she ruined it with the 2015’d dated fillers that make up a lot of this album. I really like Cool though! See kids? The reply above is clear representation of a hater with subjective opinion.
