Why do people keep comparing Gaga with other popstars

Hi all. First of all, I never post here but I've been popping into this cult site for quite some time now. Actually I've been here since 2013 and this is probably the only forum/website I've stuck to for that long 

Anyway, lately I've seen so many topics about people being disappointed in Gaga's new material and also comparing her to other artists. I mean yeah, everyone is entitled to their opinion and we're not supposed to blindly love every single thing but why compare tho? And most importantly in a very wrong way.

Some say that Dua Lipa is giving everything that Gaga lacks. Well excuse me, there was a time when Gaga was giving all of that AND more. And by 'all of that' I simply mean 'futuristic sound, great positions in charts(cause we care about that the most right?), sick music videos and etc).. It seems like people erase everything that happened in the past and can only see the latest stuff. Future nostalgia is Dua Lipa's 2nd album. Why don't you compare it to Born This Way or The Fame Monster? I'm not gonna go into much detail but you would simply see that Gaga's album was way superior than FN in terms of literally everything. Don't get me wrong I listened to FN and I loved it, it's a great album and it's in my playlist. But let Dua release her 6th album and then we'll see if it is gonna be classified as 'futuristic, different and better than Chromatica'. What I am trying to say here is that every single artist has their own way of making music and every single one of them has a specific sound which is very modern and interesting in the beginning but as time goes, loses its' sparkle. Also, it is very normal for artists to lose strong interest and passion for making music when you literally have it all. Do you honestly feel like another number 1 is gonna make Gaga feel anymore special? You don't f*cking get the same satisfaction for accomplishing the same things multiple times. Clearly she doesn't have the same drive for that as young/new artists do and she doesn't have to. It's normal to happen and it's in human nature. 

I feel like people are very delusional if they expect the same person to break their own records over and over again. That just doesn't happen. Not in music nor even in sports. Even athletes at some point have to give their spots for younger people. But that doesn't make them worse of an athletes in any way. There is a limit and you can't expect Gaga to write music that will make dead bodies jump out of their graves and dance.

Another example is when people compare Gaga to Madonna. Well, again that's very dumb because Madonna used to be the biggest star in the world during her times and therefore, it is dumb to shame her for not being on top anymore for the same reasons mentioned above.

Gaga's achieved so much in her music career and we should never forget that. She's inspired so many people and all of the number one hits if you care about that are always gonna be under her belt no matter how she's doing now. This is the reason why I will always support her and see her just as big as I saw her in 2012.

The "Dua Lipa is giving everything that Gaga lacks " guy said the same thing most of time, I think he just want that only top-star Gaga back like everyone do, but compared her with some newcoming and apparently over acclaim artist is definitely no senses.

I keep seeing things being said like Dua Lipa has done what Gaga tried to achieve but I listened to Dua's new album and I think it's a good pop album but Gaga didn't enter my mind once apart from when I wondered why are people using Gaga as a comparison. 

2 females should be able to release music without being compared. I don't understand why there needs to be a competition. Just enjoy the music, guys.

Because it’s 2020 and we’re comparing what we’re seeing now lol. No one is saying Dua Lipa is a better artist than Gaga or that everything great Gaga has ever done suddenly is erased. Gaga is an ICON but there’s no doubt that Dua’s current work and even The Weekend’s current work are superior to what Gaga has been bringing at the moment.

Idk about you but I always see people compare men too. I see on rap forums all the time.

Some fans only ended up here because they love pop music and at one point started to stan Gaga. They have no problem in dumping Gaga for the next girl to come.

Well, she's always been very involved in the making of her music videos. I might be wrong, but to my belief she's the one who comes up with the visuals and main ideas. So, can you expect her to be just as good as back when she was all fresh and full of ideas? When it comes to art, it's not really about perfecting your skills but rather having new ideas which trust me are difficult to come up with when she've been in the field for so many years and have already used up most of the stuff she had probably been visualising since she was a child. Again, all of her past videos are still her videos which should be a positive thing.

I personally prefer Stupid Love to what Dua and The Weeknd have released. I think the production of the songs are excellent quality but they lack that special something that makes me go wow.
