You have people on her saying I'm not a real fan when I actually bothered to read the Paper Magazine interview. That's where she implied Stupid Love is the best single off the album.

If she likes to switch it up why did she release Stupid Love then which sounds like a derivative BTW reject?

Cause it’s different enough from Joanne and ASIB i guess? Idk, i don’t really like SL that much but i’m sure it’s just the most commercial song on the album, ofc the rest of it will be way better, i’m 100% sure about that. Let’s just wait, you can only give your opinion about SL rn.

I remember this kind of posts popping up whenever a new girl released an album: Ariana in 2016 and last year, Billie last year, Rihanna in 2016, Beyonce in 2016, Taylor in 2016 and last year.

Now it's funny and entertaining following these rants and meltdowns, cause it's just only THAT !

Dua Lipa served the best that Dua can serve. I think it’s a very solid album, but it’s nothing that Gaga can’t serve or hasn’t served in the past. Gaga has served iconic works greater than Dua Lipa in the past.

However, I repeat again, Dua Lipa’s album is great!

I hope this doesn't sound mean or rude, but try to stan Dua Lipa for a while and totally ignore Gaga, even after Chromatica's been released. I think that way you'll see why you loved Gaga in the first place?

I don't stan Dua Lipa at all I think she is boring and replaceable. Another pretty white girl with a pretty voice will replace her in a few years. But you cannot deny she has absolutely nailed it with her new album. She is the last beacon of hope for pop music right now in the mainstream which is dominated by hip-hop.

It’s fine that you feel this way, I just don’t see why it’s necessary for you to post this on a Gaga fan forum, like at all.

If she and her music have been really important for you when you were younger, but you don’t feel that way any longer, you can just take that as it is, and move on. What are you still doing here, criticizing the cover of an album that’s been out for almost ten years now? If you’ve been critical of her work for so many years — why are you still here?

Because as a fan can I not express my frustrations? If I truly didn't care for her new music I wouldn't be writing these essays. Just two years ago I was enjoying her new music with ASIB and Joanne and The Cure.

I would have took what you said to heart If you didn’t choose the, “it’s noisy and over-produced.” Gaga fans who aren’t happy with Gaga have been saying that since BTW the song. It’s just not true lol. Stupid love is basic, yes. But it’s what people have been asking from Gaga for years. Fun radio song with nothing too serious. That’s what she gave. Maybe you should wait and see what the album is like.

As for her career choices, she’s made mistakes but that’s just the way it is. Some people get it all right and others get it all wrong.

I really don't understand this comparing Gaga to anyone lately, WTF is happening? Is this the way things work around here? Why can't people stan Dua Lipa without bringing Gaga to the equation? Dua Lipa made an album you like, she's a great artist, that's awesome, stan her, buy, listen her music, support her, but for the love of god stop bringing Gaga to this.

REALITY

First, I just want to make sure that we get this clear: people are allowed to criticize Gaga, people are allowed to have opinions. As long as people are RESPECTFUL about it, it's fine.

1.) Music videos - I agree, to a certain extent. Dua's past few videos have been amazing, and truthfully, they are the kind of quality I'd want from Gaga. The Joanne era music videos weren't as bad as people make them out to be, though. That said, they're not my favorite.

2.) Chromatica's message & the Babylon leak - I think when it comes to Gaga, she loves to overexplain things. That's not a bad thing though; that's something I love about her. She thinks and processes stuff in a very artistic way (i.e. "opening up the portal and listening to her 'fairies'"). I love that in the few interviews we've seen about Chromatica, she talks about it in a very artistic and metaphysical way. It brings me back to ARTPOP, which was the era that made me become a Little Monster! As for Babylon, you thinking that it's outdated is completely subjective. Personally, I do think it's dated, but I love that. It's very David Bowie x Madonna. It's sounds like 80s glam rock/pop, and I love it!

3.) Gaga's artistry vs. other pop stars - Again, I disagree. She only sounds like she uses "fancy words" because so many artists today, in my opinion, lack any real depth or artistry. There are certainly exceptions, but I feel like a lot of mainstream artists do the same thing, talk about the same thing, write about the same thing, sing about the same thing, etc. Gaga constantly evolves and changes, and she uses her music to convey important and powerful messages. Of course, there are other artists who do that as well, but I don't think Gaga's artistry has devolved or downgraded by any stretch of the imagination.

4.) Stupid Love - Again, most of this is subjective. I think it sounds great. It sounds like a mainstream pop radio song, but it also sounds distinctly "GAGA", if that makes any sense. I also think it has a fine MV. At first, I wasn't too keen on it, but when I just stopped worrying and accepted it for its weird campiness, its bright and fun energy, etc., I ended up really loving it! Also though, what makes you think Gaga thinks that SL is the best song off of Chromatica? Just because it's the lead single? That's not a case to be made. Just because a song is the lead off of an album doesn't mean that the artist necessarily thinks that it's the best. SL was probably a strategic play in order to get more radio/streaming attention because it sounds so mainstream. Also, about the song "dropping like a rock", it's actually rising in both sales and radio play right now. SL also debuted at #5: her highest single debut since TEOG.

The reason is obvious: many LMs are obsessed with the idea of stanning for the "it girl" of dance-pop. They resent the fact that Gaga is not in that position anymore and they're so jealous of other pop stars who are (temporarily) in that position that they just jump ship to enjoy being on the "winning" side again. It's very lame.
