but Chromatica was postponed so the world can focus on finding the cure for coronavirus... it had nothing to do with radio, sales etc, it's all purely Gaga's effort to help the world. :teehee:

Understandable tbh

I think Ariana is going to help a lot if the song is good enough and becomes a global hit. But this is not the time to discuss that. I will abstain myself from now on to talk about numbers, i am not even an expert so idk wwhy i get myself into this.

Nobody here is an expert though, they just act like they are :billie:

Why is is a good idea to put out music when streams and sales are down?

Who honestly gives a shiz?? The only people who obsess about sales and streaming are over zealous fans and now, sadly, Gaga. Didymus is right, Gaga has made on of the dumbest decisions of her career. She could have been painted as the next Jesus, saving the world in a crisis like Dua is rn now, but nope. Oh well.

I understand your point but Chromatica and Dua Lipa won't save the world from Coronavirus, they are just music albums. I think she could have made a different move, but whatever this is the situation and we cannot change it, no matter how much we fight on a pop forum site.

So I just got off an IG live with a radio DJ and a music promotor. There was like 5 people in the chat but the music promotor said that streaming was down 9% last week and sales down 14% so.... :vegas:

He also said Rihanna is coming "very soon"

You convinced us all

ASIB is a movie soundtrack, not an album adhering to a vision that is entirely her own

But still, Gaga had written the songs and produced. Showing that she still has a vision that can perform well.

Chromatican

It was 100% the wrong decision. We now have no idea when we'll (legally) hear Chromatica because CV could impact the rest of the year, and even after that we'll still be dealing with economic turmoil and mourning the lives of those lost to the virus. And with Gaga's track record with leaks and the postponement a leak is all but guaranteed. It would've been smarter to release on 4/10 or push the album up or back a few weeks if needed. Then Gaga could plan some lowkey promo and get creative, then take advantage of traditional promo when it becomes available. I hate to say this, but this is Gaga's worst decision since collaborating with R. Kelly.

Honestly even if Covid 19 wasn't a thing Dua and The Weeknd would literally overshadow and outperform Chromatica. It's a good thing she did postpone.

Dua may be a massive star in Europe, but she really doesn't have that level of fame here in the US. I may be wrong, but I think she only has two top 10 singles. DSN is a hit, but Physical and FN are not. FN didn't even chart. Her debut album sold pretty poorly, too, all things considered because New Rules was a hit.

I think Future Nostalgia (the album) will be a solid hit, but I doubt it'll due Gaga numbers. Frankly, I'll be shocked if it debuts at #1...I suspect The Weeknd will hold on.

*The Weeknd is another story. He would always outsell Gaga...but anyway, there's enough room for all of them as long as they don't release in the same week.

I honestly don't get why so called fans are doing the most ungenerous interpretation of Gaga's words. Even that shady critic in that Dua review and a few so called "twitter" roasts from non stans that fans were "celebrating" for some reason didn't interpret it that way....they interpreted it as her thinking releasing music was inappropriate at this time, and kind of thought she was being overdramatic.

Have you seen the numbers The Weeknd is doing rn? :rip:

He put out an album last week. Gaga's was due on the 10th. Not y'all acting like March 20th and April 10th are the same or right next to one another.

Cuomo has repeatedly said that he expects it to be even worse in the next two weeks...which is basically April 10th. Today they reported that a hospital in the mid-West is at capacity...and they will have to start deciding who lives and dies. A nurse just died today and worked at a hospital in NYC where they are wearing trash bags.

Besides the sh*tty #s that Interscope and Gaga do care about (and the fact that the media won't pay a lick of attention for the most part on the 10th), some of y'all are so stuck in stan twitter that you can't read the mood....the PR would be almost R. Kelly bad for her to be dancing around in a colorful outfit on IG, shilling her album to fans, when there are bound to be a million headlines about "800 people dead today" and "local ice rink now being used as a morgue" and so on.

Yup. They're clueless and only think about themselves.

"her album was going to save us!!!"

Like fk it was 😅. Its little monsters. Most of them are gonna drag the album regardless of what numbers it does or how good/bad it is. It's just what they do. I would rather her sell 10 copies than be forced into releasing out of fear of a backlash from this fandom. They just don't deserve a say with the way a lot of them talk about her.  Watch the ones who have ripped into her all week be all "happy birthday mother monster" tomorrow even though they've contributed to making her feel like sh*t all week.
