Katy perry performed her songs in bathrooms stalls, all flopped.

And her team is unimaginative, let's be real her.

That NRO video went semi-viral. But it's Katy lol, you can't compare that to Gaga. People would click on a Gaga singing in the bathroom video because they would want to hear her vocals. Katy's vocals are universally known as mediocre to horrible so of course people won't care.

It might be an act of genius. It is not hard to imagine the nation’s young music lovers social distancing together, doing home workouts via video conferencing, belting out the “Baby, keep on dancing like you ain’t got no choice” hook from Dua Lipa’s storming single Physical. Many major artists are postponing releases until they can promote them properly, including Lady Gaga and Haim.

All reviewers are basically praising Dua for releasing an upbeat album in the middle of a pandemic :ohwell:
Was it a dumb move for Gaga/Interscope to kill all the hype and give Dua the center stage?

No, because Gaga had very little to no hype and disappeared after announcing her album.

These "reviewers" might be praising Dua's realease of upbeat happy music at a time like this.

But that doesn't mean the GP wouldn't drag Gaga over the same thing. Gaga dragging is a full time sport.

Dua and The Weeknd released their albums because they already had 3 tracks out. It wasn’t like they were just getting started, plus Dua’s leaked.

Gaga had only released Stupid Love and no live performances or anything. When will people understand that?

They won't. Hence why they're not running UMG.

Can they/some members please stop mentioning Gaga every time they do a review. Gaga is over 10 years in her career and a icon, Dua Lipa is still fairly new. They're completely different, her album was leaked so if she would have pushed the date back, everybody would have heard it by then.

It's GAGA omg why are so many fans acting like she's a debuting artist :lmao: She just had one of the best-selling singles of all time and achieved a 180 degree reputation overhaul. The audience likes her and her name still means something, especially when it's related to an album concept, I for the life of me don't understand why y'all don't get that :madge:

She could do tons of radio promo and use all of her social media channels. It's not a horrible scenario. With her talent she'd easily go viral with a stripped down acoustic performance of her songs, even if she just sang it in her bathroom, y'all are so unimaginative, I can't :madge:

I'm all for an acoustic bathroom performance from Gaga :enigma:

But after that last radio interview Gaga did? No ma'am, no one wants that sh*tty promo.

Gaga needs to play to her strengths and social media promo is definitely not it lol

Neither is going viral because of a Coachella performance...

Live performances are her strength though. It also sounds like she had more things planned.

People love Gaga for her theatrics just as much as her music. Fans are desperate for a new album, but they would have been dissapointed in the long run if a whole era didn't come along with it.

I know she's coming off ASIB, but that was a soundtrack to a movie that I'm not even sure would have done as well as it did if she and Bradley cooper didn't draw people in the way they did.

But they rarely attract public attention anymore. So I don't see why so many people here assume that "proper promo" would make such a huge difference to her album's success compared to how she could promote it now.

Wishful thinking maybe? Idk. Interviews and performances do get a lot of yt views.

Outside of album success, I will speak for myself and say that an album drop, a few instagram posts, and some whack @ss radio interviews are just not what I personally want from a Gaga era and Gaga doesn't seem at all interested in doing much performing from her home.

She doesn't seem to be in the mood to do very much promoting of any kind right now. She might as well not bother trying to fake it.

Obviously others will feel differently.

Depending on how this pandemic plays out she may just end up dropping it without doing what she wants to do anyways. I'd be surprised if the tour happens as planned to be honest :bradley:

They said nothing negative about Gaga, they just said she postponed. Stop it with this flamebait threads that will make people come here and bash either Dua or Gaga. Enough.

I am HOWLING at the outright delusion these so called fans have. It's like members of this site don't spent time in the real world. Oscar winner Lady Gaga, who just so happened to win the hearts of everyone in freaking America again, would have smashed releasing Chromatica right now. She reinvented the music scene in 2008, this would have been a perfect time for her to reinvent the promo scene; but she chose not to.

Bathroom concerts, garage shows, riding on a gd donkey, she would have went viral, there's no question. Ffs, look how much publicity Madonna (god love her) got for positing a video of her naked in the bathtub? People are turning to celebrities and entertainment now more than ever in recent history. I am dumbfounded at the mental gymnastics people are going through lately to "explain" why the album would have flopped right now. It wouldn't if the cards were played right.
