GaGaAst 13,022
I didn't know she increased so much. Mainly because of ASIB. I wonder how big the numbers would be if she had released a pop album in 2016. Anyway slay queen. Streaming poison. Indeed. Its going to increase once Chromatica releases. From 5M to 40M. From 158th to 20th. Love it when you call me legs In the morning, buy me eggs

Venus Rose 5,638
SHE DID THAT You don't consider Joanne a pop album though? I don't understand why some of you consider it a country album. Is it because of the hat on the cover?

MrDaniel 14,666
50M when Rain On Me is released 60M when Chromatica is out But at this point I think it’s ML would start to decrease
blankpaper 21
Was Spotify very popular in 2016 though? Some of that is probably just the growth of Spotify in general reality’s tight if the music is right

Lol. Not because of hat on the cover. Love it when you call me legs In the morning, buy me eggs

Yeah I remember streaming with Apple Music back in like 2014/2015 and Spotify was pretty much only used by the cool kids who were super into music. It wasn’t really the norm yet reality’s tight if the music is right

That has very little to do with the growth of streaming in 4 years, but a LOT to do with Gaga's success in the past 4 years from Joanne to the Super Bowl to ASIB and this year to Chomatica. Her peak was around the peak of the iTunes era, so for her to now transition a decade later into the streaming era and an entirely new musical landscape is remarkable. She is a smart business women and subtly she and her team changed her image, her target audience, her standing in music industry and most importantly a relevant MUSIC ICON she was. Spotify grew and so did her numbers. But as you pointed out her rank skyrocketed which shows that she will quite comfortably adopt the new music landscape after Chromatica. Widows Kiss 7,818
That is huge for Gagz. But the tweet is comparing monthly listeners in the middle of an era with massive playlisting to 2016 when Gaga's career was in a very chaotic spot and Joanne didn't happen yet. You can't deny it's a LOT more country influenced, but I don't know where it lands honestly, I think it has a little bit of a lot of genres
