Spain is next door, i feel like i'm watching this huge tsunami in front of us, and all we can do is hoping that it won't hit us so bad, that we can at least avoid such number of deaths. People (specially from some oriental countries, not to sound offensive) in my city, Barcelona, are still opening their stores and going around in groups when it's forbidden (only really necessary stores are allowed to open). I see it everyday as I myself am a sanitary professional and i'm obbligated or allowed to go to work. Nobody was ready for this, not even our health system, and it should've been, but there's still many people that can't see how bad this virus is, they just think it won't happen to them while they're transmitting it. I can assure you our professionals are trying their best, and working really hard, but our public health systems aren't ready for such a disaster and choices have to be made. Of course China is treating their patients, just like everyone is trying to do. What countries can't do is treat stupidity. PerfectGUY 7,822 Posted March 25, 2020 Share Posted March 25, 2020 I hope people are not naive and realize both Italy and Spain are FAR from reaching the death toll in China China obviously lied about its deaths given there's 1.4 BILLION people in China vs 40 million in Spain. + the fact that China were caught offguard and needed to figure out what was going on first (didn't know it was a virus, what were the symptoms, treatments etc....) Sorry if their healthcare system wasn't prepared for this, take a look around a lot of countries weren't. Instead of being negative why can't you be positive about them trying their best to save lives, even that isn't good enough for some people. I never claimed they are killing old people on purpose. I said they are allowing older people to die because not enough care could be done. Why be positive about government refusing to take measures to prevent this? are you gonna be positive about how Trump acts with the carona crisis? I am from a "third country" and we are not ready for any of this, yet we did the right thing to prevent it. My country was on full lockdown when we had only 20 cases. What are not closed are pakistani and indian supermarkets that are open 24/7 and have 6 or 7 employees at once. I see it myself everyday. Also pakistani and moroccan people going out in groups when it's only permitted to go outside one by one and only for important proposes like getting food or medication. Stores can't even have more than 5 people inside.
