This Wasn't Gaga's Decision

People need to understand that Gaga and her team did not make this decision. Interscope makes the final decision on music releases. Gaga's team just tells them when they are ready and they figure out the date. In 5F2, you can see when Gaga got the call saying that they got the date for Perfect Illusion. This was not her decision. Don't take this out on her.

Additionally, the world around is falling apart. Focus on your real life.

It’s wild to me that people actually think that Gaga just makes decisions on her own like there aren’t hundreds of people on her team and at Interscope who are all part of decision making.

True but then I'd prefer it if she just said it like that. That would prevent hundreds of fans bashing her personally for a decision that's not even hers :smh:

If she just told it the way it is we would be talking about what Interscope had to lose etc., it'd be a far more balanced debate. Oh well, I guess it'll blow over. But sometimes I don't get why Gaga wants to keep up this lame appearance of the grand artist when it's beyond clear by now she's still enslaved to the industry's ball and chain.

yeah that's my point. they don't have ANYTHING to focus on in their 'real lives', so a single or some music would be real good rn

At the end of the day, we ALL deserve something better after this. Isn't explosive to finally hear the whole album and we can party with friends and celebrate the album along with the end of this pandemic virus?

Some of them want to abuse you, some of them want be abused.

The point is that fans can immediately understand this is simply a business decision that Gaga has no power to fight. Believe it or not, it would create a completely different fan reception than this "omg Gaga, where's your music not the bling now!!!" frenzy :smh:

Interscope's decision is understandable (while wrong) and I'm sure most fans get that. If Gaga just typed "we" instead of "I made the decision" it would've already made a world of difference and she wouldn't have had to call out Interscope directly.

Even if it wasn’t her decision, this is Gaga we are talking about. She has the creative control to say “Release it anyways.” This entire experience has really lead to a disenchantment with Gaga that I was already feeling from Enigma. I truly do find this hypocritical and honestly don’t even want this album anymore because the message has really been ruined by this hypocritical decision.

Then go away...listen to someone else...why are you still here being selfish

I've got an "F" and a "C" and I got a "K" too And the only thing that is missing is a bitch like "U"

PREACH! People are delulu and just want a chance to slam her again. She has the weirdest fan base—honestly can't think of another one that drags their so called idol for so much, but downplays the real bad sh*t (DWUW, which fans still want to leak). It's Interscope's choice (but she clearly can't admit it for the obvious reasons), and there are hundreds of people involved with her album....Gaga can eat a loss if it flops, but she's not the only one that will be impacted and it's not fair to the others. This isn't some Radiohead deal with minimal involvement that they can put out free with no issue.

That said, even if it was her decision (and I doubt it was)....it was a good choice. The virus is going to peak in the next three-six weeks and the US is predicted to be worse than ITALY—if people think it's a good idea for a major star to release a cheerful, colorful album at that time then they can not read the national mood at all or the media (she'd be dragged to death).

Honestly, I'm kind of annoyed at the reactions on here (may have to take a long break).
