Okay first, as I always state in these threads - Please don't put all "religious" people in the same category.  Please don't call us drug users.

On to my main point...

I am a Christian.  Do I believe God will protect me? Yes. Do I believe I can still get sick? Yes. Do I believe I could die from this? Yes. But I also believe in modern medicine and common sense. You can have a vision that says God will guide us through a "storm" but this does not mean you go against common sense either.  As believers, we believe that God gives us a sound mind to make decisions. Making a decision that could put so many people in danger is not okay. Use common sense. Have compassion for your employees. Hobby Lobby was one of my favorite stores, but I might have to reconsider that now. I like to give business to businesses that take care of their employees, not put them in harms way.

I'm not very religious but I do have a faith (even tho I hardly follow it but that's not the point) and frankly I never talk about it here cuz ppl are so hostile and stereotypical all the time towards religion :madge:

Ur one of the nicest ppl on this site and proof being religious or having a faith doesn't have to mean biggoted

And also @Floppy I like u and respect u. I low-key didn't expect those comments from u :noparty:

Didn't expect what from me? I don't have anything against people that practice any religion they choose. In my personal experience they treat me like **** and like I'm disposable on countless occasions. They preach love and all that but then proceed to spread hate. I'm aware there are people that practice religion that aren't like that. I'm sorry but someone saying "my wife heard from God that everything will be ok" as an excuse to be greedy and keep people working under these conditions says everything for me I don't even need to explain.

There is a reason that there is a link for religious beliefs and things such as cults and such. It has more to do with individuals being groomed usually using faith though, and it isn’t as hard as you’d think to groom someone. Let’s keep this thread dragging the individual not the beliefs of hundreds of thousands of people who don’t behave in that manner. Kinda how predatory gays don’t represent the vast majority of the lgbtqia+

My issue is it sounds like ur lumping everyone together

Theres ppl doing and saying crazy things on a daily basis and we don't go around saying "atheist said this" or did that.

Imagine stereotyping based on race, gender or sexual orientation and how dispicable most here would look on that but when it's stereotyping on religion suddenly it's ok and everyone here gets a free card to do so. Talk about double standards

Ur using her as an example. Do u think telling ppl to work that they will be fine because she heard a message from God is something the majority of religious people would say? Ur literally justifying ur comments because of what she said even tho ur comments were very generalized to anyone religious

But in my comment I just explained that I'm aware they aren't all the same.

Yes. But u did also say "crazy and religious tend to go hand in hand"

Saying they aren't all the same gives me "not all black people are violent, I have a black friend" teas

If u say something about a group of people like that ur lumping those group of people even if ur saying there's exceptions. Just like not all racists will necessarily hate every single individual from another race that they generally judge

But whatever I don't wanna argue. I was just surprised those comments came from u. There's other users here if they had said the same thing I wouldn't have bothered responding cuz I already know their mentality.

Obviously there will be people who don't apply when you make a statement about a large group of people it goes both ways.

Ok I need to apologize.

I honestly didn't think much before I made those statements.  I'm bitter about religion because of my past experiences but it's not fair to say what I said. I really hope I didn't offend any one too much that was immature of me I'm sorry. I need to be more aware about things because not everything is a joke and sometimes I take my jokes too far.

@SamanthaC @Economy

Thanks

On the one hand I understand the anger cuz there are some very ignorant religious ppl out there or those who try to force their beliefs on others

But there's also many who are not such as me and people like @SamanthaC so I don't like the frequent stereotyping and hostility we tend to get and we all get lumped into the same group of people unjustifiably

It's to the point that I avoid mentioning the fact I have a faith a lot of times and if I have to hide that fact, to me it shows a reverse lack of acceptance and hostility has gone too far

Franch Toast

Well, at least in many states, I assume they're going to have to close given various shelter-in-place orders.

Hobby Lobby is a weird place. It has such a gay energy, and I almost feel like I belong there in a sense, but every time I go the employees are RUDE and role their eyes all over. How can they be so naive to who their costumer base is?? If you don’t want the ghays shopping at your store then maybe don’t sell craft supplies!

Its kinda off topic but I just had to vent
