Porter put out a tweet on Friday asking for people who have met Ellen DeGeneres to share their most insane true stories of how mean she is, promising to donate $2 from every story heard to the LA Food Bank. Since then, stories (true or not), have come flooding in... 'When Karen wouldn't cross the picket line she was fired and Ellen never spoke to her again' '[She] told me Ellen didn't greet her once. In fact, upon employment, staff were told they weren't allowed to talk to her' 'Everyone must chew gum from a bowl outside her office before talking to her and if she thinks you smell that day you have to go home and shower' 'every day she picks someone different to really hate. It's not your fault, just suck it up for the day and she'll be mean to someone else the next day. They didn't believe it but it ended up being entirely true' 'wrote a letter to the owner & complained about [the waitress'] chipped nail polish (not that it was on her plate but just that it was on my hand).' 'threw a place of salmon' [in a waiter's face] 'bc it wasn't what she ordered.' ...and many more. True or not, this is unquestionable bullying and it makes me very uncomfortable, especially in a world where we're trying to be nice to each other. Everyone's stuck at home in quarantine right now, not the time to be exposed and cancelled. If it's true, it is of course, terrible but this was not the way to get food bank donations and should have been done at a much later date if it was to be done at all. It's also possible some of these stories are true or partially true because she's not as nice behind the scenes as on stage (as I believe is the case with many public figures tbh) But with these stories come a lot of fake ones too from haters or people who are bored...
