It’s an amazing, cohesive and coherent album. Not for everyone, but it’s another big piece of Abel’s storyline as an artist and growth as a person. I’m glad people can still recognize quality these days. Meritocracy may win.

REALITY

I don't think sales will drop cuz of quarantine and streams will definitely rise cuz ppl got more time to stream

What will suffer is Radio and Club plays and Gaga as a re-emerging artist in popularity that isn't heavily followed by GP yet would have benefited from radio hits like SL is

Artists that don't need to be put back on the map benefit from lockdown. Artists like Gaga that could benefit from standard exposure like radio to get back on map and streams suffer :/

True, radio and club plays will suffer, but that's for every artist. That isn't just Gaga.

Hopefully heavy promotion on streaming services will do the trick. Also, once she releases Rain On Me, people will be all over that song. I think that'll really boost up her numbers!

I know but ur missing my point

Artists that are hot and followed by GP don't need to be promoted to get the streams. People will stream their music at home when it comes out regardless and to a greater degree cuz they got time

Artists that are not the hottest thing like Gaga don't get as many streams on their own (we have SL to prove it). Gaga would have benefited from standard promo to a greater degree than artists that are already popular now.

The fact that SL is doing better in Radio Airplay than she is in streams means she's on the loosing side on the effects of the shutdown

This virus is having a regressive impact on artists I think. Those that are already hot now get even more streams abd benefit from the lockdown relative to artists that aren't as hot and suffer if they were hoping to re-emerge with a radio hit or something

The way it will be so embarrassing when chromatica does like 100k and we won’t even be able to use the “pandemia!!1!1!1” excuse :lmao:

Well deserved! Hoping for Gaga to push 200k + number but liddos told me to expect at least 70k

70k? Gaga is an album artist, I cannot see nothing less 300k on a debut.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

Well considering we’re in quarantine and stuff I assume this is mostly from streams. Hopefully this means Gaga can get around 300k or a bit more then.

The quarantine is not helping streams that much, I could even say it's decreasing them. The GP/people rather watch tv shows or movies during the quarantine...

Usually people stream music when they're moving, aka in the bus, in their car, at the gym, taking a walk, etc. and now we can't really do those things. From the charts thread we saw a little drop in streams everywhere.

Chromatica won't be near these numbers, don't even close. It's sad but realistic, Abel has been promoting this album since Heartless/Blinding Lights dropped, he has been on TV and Blinding Lights is a stable hit, unlike Stupid Love which is sadly going down day by day on streaming and only radio is appreciating it, but that isn't enough. The world knew Abel was coming with a new album because he dropped two singles, one went #1 the other became a smash with good sings of longetivity, also, the promo he's been doing is great, it didn't seem forced at all, he just went to some shows to perform and talk about the album and that's it. Gaga on the other hand has done nothing but put a few billboards across USA and UK.

As much as I hate to say this, I think Gaga just doesn't care about promoting this album for some reason, at least the first single, now we are three weeks away from it and we still don't know nothing, she hasn't even been online, and she has no excuse now, she's on her home everyday like the rest of us taking care of herself, and I don't know why is it THAT hard for her to come online and just talk to us for a minute, I know she has a lot of fans who criticize the **** out of her but then there are MILLIONS who love her, support her and see her as a human being rather than a machine, and that's the only thing I can say I hate about Gaga right now, she just doesn't care about us anymore, at least not like she used to, which seemed genuine and wholesome. So yeah, besides, the GP isn't that much for her right now, and unless she does something these three weeks, I don't see Chromatica debuting with great numbers.

Didn't Spotify reported like 2 days ago that they had an all-time-high peak on their active users?

A lot keep saying it's actually helping streams because we're in quarantine.. Its a myth
