Every day I see what is going on in Italy, in the hope that it will improve, every day the numbers of infected and dead is higher, it is devastating. It makes me feel desperate, because my country is moving towards bigger numbers every day too. My only hope is that the measures in place can help us not to have such a devastating number of deaths ...

Jesus, this is so tragic and truly traumatic for so many people. Everyone is talking about the economic impacts (fair), but the rates of ptsd are going to skyrocket and the long term impacts of psychological trauma will be massive.

My sister lives in Indonesia and our embassy (we're Canadian) has been emailing her every day telling her to leave, it's so scary. They really pretended nothing was happening for so long.

mortality rate : 5.3%

 

France :

14 959 cases (+1 847 in the last 24 hours)

562 death (+112 in the last 24 hours)

mortality rate : 4%

Part of me is starting to think that this may not be something that can be contained anymore. It’s almost like now all we can do is adapt and hopefully develop some type of immunity towards it. Please be safe out there.

Something as widespread and contagious as this, I think we all have to accept that pretty much everybody on the planet will get it at some point. It's not something that's just going to go away in hot weather. All we can do is hope we are among the 95% of people who survive.

Exactly this is going to be something that is integrated into our environment going forward.

These deaths and new cases were likely mostly contracted before Italy went into full lockdown. Italy will peak in the coming week or two, HOPEFULLY. 

Then we will see less cases and less deaths, HOPEFULLY.

A similar case is coming to many countries.

Better run while she can. I wish her well.

It's getting worse, lots people are still doing activities outside like nothing happen, but some decided to stay home.

The reason the infected numbers still low because the government haven't  mass tested its citizens. It's pretty difficult if you want to get tested, if you don't show heavy symptoms, they will just send you home and ask you to isolate yourself.

That's why I don't trust the numbers. I believe so much more people have been infected.

Well there’s a girl that went to New York for springbreak and now she’s hosting a party tonight with all the international students and locals at my school. I mean I hope everyone to be fine but I’m not risking it

is there any way to convince her she's potentially risking lives and stop this party from happening, maybe through authorities even? this is serious... stay safe.

You literally brought up blame. You said asian countries are being blamed. I said the only asian country that needs to be blamed is China- because that’s where the virus started- in the wet markets. The western countries should be blamed by their own people for lack of, or delayed response.
