it's the same situation for ever song and every artist.... chart numbers will have the same rules for everyone, no matter how many listeners there are.

I know... But my point is if radio is what she's doing best in and it's got less audience now... It's benefiting her less exposure wise that's my point

It could honestly just be the ageing star tbh

Taylor Swift is probably the only female artist that came out at or before Gaga's time that still does really well and even with her the performance of her singles have declined

Gaga still has more fire than Katy at least :enigma:

I really dont agree with the ageing star thing. She just had one of the biggest songs of her career. The general public really likes her now, but Stupid Love is just not resonating. And as I stated before, Gaga has always had to massive promo to get her singles to succeed(Applause needed multiple TV performances and a nationwide car commercial). With the pandemic going on, she cant do that.

Honestly, I think we should wait and see how it holds up in the coming week. If it continues to drop, they will definitely try another single. Never underestimate Gaga and her team. She always comes back with a hit.

yes, but still, it's less exposure for everyone on the radio... nobody is stopping people from looking the song up on itunes and spotify and youtube, and they're not

It was a huge hit yes but let's not forget it was her only major hit going back a span of almost 7 years

And being respected and liked is not the same as being popular. Many legends are very liked and respected doesn't mean they are capable of having a hit now

The two don't necessarily always happen at the same time

I know. Ppl keep using the argument that it's the same for everyone

I'm saying Gaga is not big with streams usually and she's not exactly the hottest artist

Radio is the one thing she had going strongly for her right now because she's doing well in the spins so that makes her MORE negatively affected ATM by the drop in radio listens than many other charting artists onna relative basis

Radio is disproportionately the most negatively affected right now and it's the thing SL is doing best in... So naturally, the negative impact for Gaga is significant

Gaga is not the victim of agism. She was considered 40 just when she started her career. People always thought she was old.

I think age doesn't matter in her case, cause she's not your typical pussycat that relies only on sexiness. She'll have a commercially succesfull career if she wants to. That's what I think.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

exactly... the ageism excuse is ridiculous.... we can start coming up with theories if she flops with a bona fide super song.... not with this single, the under-performing is reasonable here

I was driving somewhere today and had Y100 on(Z100 in south Florida) and Stupid Love truly doesn't sound like anything else on the radio. Stupid love is chaotic and loud. Its jarring hearing it in between Billie Eilish and The Weekend. I love Stupid Love, truly I do. But I think something akin to The Cure would have taken off because thats what the people want to hear right now. Sucks, but I'm sure Chromatica has something that will smash, even if its Rain on Me.

It's the most played song on radio in 2020 in the UK. Listeners must love it, yet they won't engage with it after hearing it on the radio. Sad. I'm thinking the lead was a radio song and then 2nd and 3rd are for streaming

Radio loves it, which is great. But Gaga is having a hard time transitioning to streaming.

To be frank, an Ariana collaboration would probably do wonders for her streaming impact.

Don't I'm not getting over this anytime soon sis.

Well if you listen to the streaming smashes they're very soft vocal'd with a light production. Stupid Love is great and sounds good oner speakers but it's not a steaming song. Ariana has a streaming sound and voice so hopefully gaga will absorb that.

Im just sad, if SL smashed it'd be another signature hit with gaga sound

When other artists have this situation we accuse the radio of shoving songs down people's throats. The most played song on the radio and it's bobsledding down the chart...

girl it is hardly doing 1.6M daily streams WW and it keeps decreasing :cryga: It just isn't what the GP wants.

It's good it is doing well on radio but damn did it underperform in terms of streams and stagnate in terms of sales.

For me as long as the song returns to the top 25 for a couple more weeks I will be happy.
