Bobina 3,037
I don’t think it’s similar to TFM. If I’m gonna compare it at all, it’d be to ARTPOP or BTW. "634 blowjobs in 5 days. I'm really quite tired."

Except...The Fame Monsters single schedule was three months in between each single if I recall. Correct. Bad Romance was Fall of 2009. Telephone I think was January and Alejandro was around April. JustJames 1,041
I actually agree only from the standpoint that TFM was an era that was restricted by time due to it needing to be completed and released as a continuance of The Fame, while being short enough to not risk overexposure. She had little to gain by releasing after the acclaim of TF/ASIB, and a lot to lose. Chromatica was always restricted by the need to tour and also continue her Enigma engagement. I think that is why we were able to avoid the typical pitfalls of a Gaga era thus far; a leak usually led to a Pop 9-1-1, but instead, business went on, the lead single was released and IT DID ITS JOB. Quickly entering power rotation and top 10 play on both Pop and Hot AC Radio, with a callout of 103+ (#3 debut; well ahead of competitor songs), after debuting #5 to 99% positive reception. By now, we'd have already had a messy switcharoo pulled with the 2nd single as they tried to figure out if a previously planned promo should replace it. TFM had no promo singles; Alejandro wasn't pulled when it received some criticism. It pushed forward and became a Top 5 hit that likely would've been a moment in her career had she not pushed the exact same boundaries too far with Judas. Summary: TFM with its no frills, perfectly planned rollout to the point that some flexibility may have helped (moving BR to let Paparazzi build, releasing DITD as a promo single with MV or 4th single), constricted timeline, external factors (holiday season, leaked lead, religious controversy), and curated tracklist made it a unique era that is hard to critique. Chromatica faces similar challenges, and it seems like we may be getting a well-planned rollout of well-received but limited singles, that fit into one of her most cohesive and top quality bodies of work.
