MelbHawker 6,583 Posted March 21, 2020 Share Posted March 21, 2020 Blinding Lights really IS the album's peak. I like Heartless, Faith and (oddly) Escape From LA. I want to like In Your Eyes but I'm not warming up to it after quite a few listens. It has an amaze instrumental, but lyrically I was just like 'meh'. Deagan 608 Posted March 21, 2020 Share Posted March 21, 2020 Oh wow I'm a little surprised by what it sounds like.. the entire album gives me a synth Tame Impala concert vibe.. very trippy "after hours" indeed.. then around heartless it becomes a bit more hip hop and starboy (In Your Eyes sounds like I Feel It Coming to me), but goes back to very tame. I mean... it's okay, but all the songs before Blinding Lights (track 9) felt like a huge, long, same song (with the exception of Scared To Live). Scared To Live, Blinding Lights and Save Your Tears are my only standouts. After Hours (the song) has a very interesting production and twist to it... but that's just about it.
