In this age of mass social media, I’m sure they have heard about the disease waaayy before the event. But sadly their need for having sum fun and party outpeaked their existential needs. Don’t put your health and safety all for the government’s responsibility because that’s straightforward ignorant. We’re all human with capable thinking ability not puppies or pets.

I think this type of behavior is reflective of how much we have taken all of these luxuries for granted. The true owners of blame should be our elected officials and Trump for ignoring the severity of the outbreak. Going around telling people we won against the outbreak with 15 cases going down to 0 and now we’re at a little over 9,100 here in the US as of this morning. Then to top it of, the attitude of some of these guys going to these events just shows how much work the LGBTQ community needs to conduct on ourselves. The superficiality superseding safety is what kills me; the fact that these festivals and partygoers are not looking at the bigger picture and are so focused on the right now. It’s selfish, and disgusting.

Exactly.  This is not a Miami gay festival issue and is not an LGBTQ issue, but is an issue of any large gatherings of people.  For this pandemic to be defeated, everyone will need to pitch in and do what they can to avoid contracting and spreading the disease.  For example, it's tough for students to give up their spring break, but the time has come when we all need to sacrifice and be good global citizens.

plus, youre ignoring the timelines of this: the festival started waaay before all of the crisis in the US. if there is anyone to blame, blame the authorities and the organizers, not the "gays" as a whole

Sorry but no excuse — last Monday March 9th my boyfriend was made aware of the cancellation of an event that he was to vend at which wasn’t until this weekend (21/22) — the festival has the same warning everyone did — one acted responsibly the other did not — Miami is going to become a WRECKED epicenter thanks to the selfishness of these gay men and those trashy frat kids interviewed on the beach —

even my job suspended the biannual France trio due to the virus ... IN FEBRUARY .. AND CONFIRMED CANCELLATION MARCH 10TH

Some of y'all are really harsh, this was on the 10th of march, there weren't any lockdown or quarantaine regulations back then and the situation was a lot less threatening in some countries.. Should it have been cancelled? Yes
