1st of May is a national holiday in Germany, Austria, Luxemburg, Belgium, parts of Switzerland, Portugal, France, Hungary and Russia. Shops are closed on May 1st in these countries so I doubt they would risk losing first-day sales in all those countries

Generally, album release dates are a label's decision, not the artists' decision, so can you all please stop threatening Gaga or making rude claims about her concerning a possible delay that we aren't even sure she is directly involved with. :air:

The only issue I have with the album being delayed is it is probably inevitable for it to leak fully

so idk what’s better

They don't know ****. But yeah, I could see the album being delayed. I just hope it'll be just the physical copies...

That account know nothing and was created by Admin, or is at least a friend of his, they literally take every info they have from ATRL and most of us know that, so I wouldn't trust them as a reliable source. There's literally no point in postponing because sadly, we don't know when the situation will get any better, everyday, there are like +100 infected people PER country, this is not going going to slow down, Gaga jjst had bad timing but what about it? What are labels gonna do? Wait until August - September until the situation is a bit more calm?

Everything is so uncertain these days, and for obvious reasons, but music is like one of the only businesses than can still work even with this pandemic.

As much as it makes me sad, it's the right decision for the moment

If this were true I’d be very disappointed in Gaga and Interscope. Firstly because they are myopic and only have immediate commercial interests in their minds.

And even if we were talking purely on sales, this would not be a very wise move for several reasons.

Higher chance of leak - Seriously the album is finished and having it lying around is desperate for a leak. And a leak of an album will be way more devastating when it occurs weeks or months ahead.

Dead hype - It’s not like Gaga hasn’t even started the era- She’s released the lead- been on interviews to hype the album, and also the paper magazine cover story teased a damn lot. Wait any longer and it will all go to waste.

And when will they postpone it to? Projections are not pointing toward a near end, or even peak, of this pandemic. This era will be dead before it arrives if they choose to wait until it calms down. Things are gonna be up in the air indefinitely.

Releasing it now means you accept loss from physical sales, but there are various ways to mitigate it. She needs to promote it on digital channels and make more online appearances. The #TogetherAtHome thing sounds good and I hope they consider it.

Obviously the initial figures will be terrible - but is it really all your release campaign hinges on? Who the hell cares about that when a freaking pandemic is going on?

But she will score points with people, many of whom are her fans, who are stuck inside, depressed. New music gives them relief and is truly the small respite that a lot of us are holding onto. Look at Animal Crossing and how the press is lauding its arrival during this difficult time.

Yes Gaga’s been hit with pretty bad luck but she and her team needs to work around it, not avoid it. It is difficult but also opens up quite a few opportunities for her to get her music to people. Let this not be an excuse to scrap everything. It’s to late to go back. Own it and go with it.

well maybe you’re being myopic as well, because none of us know the full details on how an album release works, there very possibly could be certain procedures/logistics that literally cannot proceed due to the lockdowns and quarantines. maybe it’s not all about business.

It amazes me how some people cannot see that the current circumstances will not allow the artistic performance of the era to be carried out according to plan.

it is best to postpone the launch. Music, like all art of mass interest, is a business and an artistic expression.

The most convenient thing for Gaga is to be successful in both caregories and at this moment, all the work and vision in Chromatica would be a wasted effort.

The official store is still allowing orders for the physical.  Amazon says physical unavailable but digital is April 10.  Apple Music says digital is April 10.  These places update faster than an announcement from Gaga, so just check there.

this would be so diappointing. i get that it'd have an impact on sales but cmon... fvck off it's not like y'all will go bankrupt. we need something to put our heads to being 24/7 home.

Sadly Interscope doesn’t care about that.
Not necessarily defending this decision because I want music as much as anyone else here but if they do it it’s probably for the best

But either way though, i she postpones it or not the era won’t be according to plan. It’s already here, a song, an MV and promo is happening as we speak

so then the era would start in feb, have a huge break due to the virus and then commence in months time..i mean she’d have to do something in the meantime to keep us interested
