Another reason why delaying Chromatica would make no sense

We do, but given a choice I would rather have music on April 10 with middling sales than wait half a year to a year just so she can have potential success. Not everything is about sales. We are not Interscope, her success or lack of affects us in no way whatsoever.

it affect us -> little success -> little performances, little singles, little music videos, little photoshoots for magazines, little interviews, little merch. I want to see our girl happy, not in bad mood for failure of the era.

I agree. By that point, my school might or might not be open but new music is a nice distraction from the scary things going on right now.

I don’t think the peak will be in May. China has already almost cleared up all its cases not to mention it will be harder for the virus to survive in the warmer months. And no I was never expecting a full era like BTW lmao. What I meant was at least more promo and effort than what we got during Joanne but even that seems unlikely now

We’re not China, and when you have health officials and the president saying it could last until July possibly August...that says a lot. China started taking action when the first few cases were confirmed between December and January. The US mismanaged the situation and didn’t take it seriously 8 weeks ago. Postponing the album back to May makes no difference at this point than releasing it in April.

You guys should think about Gaga. A few days ago an user here told me he doesn't care about charts, he just wants to listen to her music, and that Gaga will still win her money regardless charts position. Well, she won't win that much money if the album fails. It'll also send a bad message to Interscope and they could not invest big money on her anymore. Besides, if Chromatica flops, don't expect another Gaga's album for the next 5 years.

Yeah I don’t expect another pop album from her for another 5 years. That’s common knowledge luv.

Also “she won’t win that much money” Literally every big market is suffering from moderate to heavy loss- Chromatica sales won’t be an exception.

Your delay plan is a no plan. When will she delay it to? Until the pandemic die down? which can be anything from June-July to October or worst case scenario the end of the year? With all the albums pressed, stored, lying around waiting to leak? And then y’all come for her for not releasing sooner and letting it leak? Not to mention other summer/ fall releases lining up. Suddenly everyone’s releasing and Gaga will 100% be drowned out even worse than she would be in the current state. For someone who cares about sales you really didn’t think this through eh?

Best of luck she had already shot all the highbudget videos and shoots she needs because she will be relying on that for promo + online appearances and performances. Public events are gonna be off the table for a long while.

I really don’t think it’s about sales. The fans want to be able to enjoy the album at clubs and parties, we want a full and proper era after waiting 4 years. There’s no reason to not delay the album. I’m sure gaga also wants her fans to go out and enjoy the music too, not to mention if she delays it she has more time to plans things out. Also, nobody is mentioning that she constantly delayed LG5, LG6, singles, mv etc. Even C2C was delayed like 3 times. And now she’s actually going to still release during a pandemic when all she has to do it push it a few weeks to May?

Oh noes it’s not really Gag’s problem if you can’t enjoy her 3-month old music at the club. :bye:

It basically boils down to whether fans want new music or new music and number success.

Dua Lipa and The Weeknd albums are coming out before Gaga’s so we’ll see.

And Gaga being happy with the release and being able to promote it, to explain it, to spread joy, to interact with  fans. She won’t be able to do that with what is going on.

There are OTHER ways she can do this and remain humble.

Who said there aren’t? I wasn’t asking. I just think she’s extremely disappointed that her beloved, long awaited album has to be released during this trying time.

Basically what I see going on here is a mixture of fans looking to hope for brighter days ahead. And then you have other fans that dropped her during ARTPOP’s abysmal success, barely stuck around for Joanne, lived for Ally in A Star Is Born, hear Pop-Gaga back with Stupid Love and now getting pissy because a global pandemic is disturbing their own personal take on how things should be. Some of ya’ll are so selfish.

The talk about the virus being dead in the warm weather was already debunked by multiple scientists. Many countries in Europe have the peak of the virus ahead of them. Todays reports are saying that the UK may have their peak by late July-early August, so yeah. The US, gosh, judging from what those idiots in Florida were doing yesterday, welp, let’s hope they will get better by the end of the year.

You previous answer insinuates like she is incapable to promote the album with a pandemic spread.

She might be annoyed but I don’t think she will be hurt by it especially when she still plans to share it with fans and the world to listen. If she was really that bothered, then she could have postponed the album.

Knowing Gaga she’ll do what Mark Kanemura has been doing on his social media; live streaming parties. Gaga knows how to reach her fans. I’m not worried.

I've been thinking about a concept for Chromatica's launch. Imagine if Gaga promotes the album and performs in a clear glass box in the middle of Times Squares because of coronavirus. That would be insane, but either way, I think her team need to find innovative ways to promote the album even if we're quarantined.
