Well, tbh. This would be nice. Tik tok is a mess and Im tired of LGBT content on it. 99% of the videos are people saying "look Im gay and single".

 

There is no diversity.

They need to fix it to be more organic or it will die down soon. The same should be done to repetitive content. I don't need to see the same challenge on my feed over and over. It's poorly organized

Especially considering how popular this app is with younger people, I think it says a lot. Alongside Instagram, it's reinforcing beauty, cultural, and even attitudinal standards- which is, similar to tabloid media and magazines a decade ago, especially heinous for younger people if they have not been educated or exposed to modes of thinking around it.

It might not sound like it's that deep, but we've seen the long-lasting effects of this kind of influential media, in nearly every generation.

I don't hate the app, either. I've seen incredible short-form pieces on it, from hilarious and comical to insightful and educational. I think it has the potential to give younger people a platform to connect with each other in a way many other apps that came out during my formative years have not. I just think everybody involved should tread carefully.

The way that app regurgitates those basic beauty ideals...it feels like there’s no room for everyone to excel sometimes and it’s exclusionary. You need to look a certain way and follow trends and now be of a certain social status in order to succeed on a free to download app? Literally imagine how tired we are

It is quite normal that they want to avoid burnout. 

I'm not sure if it's a general problem with the app but where I live it's all it has to offer. 

Instagram suffers from the same problem. Fitness guys selling prozis are the plague. 

What I don't like about this is that their guide lets to much open. In my opinion.
