hankhatesyouall 2,731
This is a huge overreaction. If this complete shutdown leads to another recession, significantly more people will die because of poverty. There is a 0.2% chance that this virus will kill you if you are under 50. South Korea is actually doing it the right way without any China-style shutdowns, and they managed to swiftly contain the virus despite having the highest risk. They’re doing a great job of testing people. Alas, other countries are not. She/Her/Hers

You don't live in France , in Paris we don't even test people anymore cause way too much people are infected there's a lot of young people in reanimation in hospital in Italia and even France the virus spread way more in Europe than South Korea now. 4500 confirmed case in France but for real the number is crazy much higher. We are doing what we have to do to protect our country and y'all should watch ur country before talking about what we are doing in France 🇫🇷 My english sucks

Yes, that's the point. South Korea is doing like 10,000 tests per day (including drive-through tests) and their economy stays alive. European nations are playing with fire. Their economies are already very fragile with negative interest rates. Locking down entire countries in such a radical fashion will be absolutely detrimental for their economies. These people have jobs and bills to pay.

Are you considering that if everyone gets infected now there will be no hospital beds and the CFR (case fatality ratio) will be probably higher than in Italy (6.3%). SK managed it well because they tested thousands of people 1 month ago or so, they acted quickly and traced contacts. Virus has been spreading for weeks in Europe and the US under the radar, and just now we’re seeing infections that happened 2 weeks ago on average. People are paid to stay home, unlike the US where people need to go to work with a fever. pooiota

Lucas 31,308
That's the right thing to do But it puts me in a crappy situation, after I finished school I found a 6 months job in a restaurant in France, where I live. Because of this I won't work the full 6 months so I won't be able to get the monthly money help from the government after, once I'll be jobless
