But lyrics are honestly so bad and autotune is unbearable.. Love her but we cannot really say that this album is lyrically good

WHATTTT😱😱😱

The lyrics are fantastic. They are very simple yet complexly structured. The autotune I can see being annoying but its very stylistic and Mirwais. Like American Life was. I feel like the autotune is only there in a couple songs?  And all of it is used for an effect

"My name is Dita, I'll be your Mistress tonight..."

Did I make this post too long? Yes. Will anyone read the whole thing? Probably not.

I loved this era so much!  The promo/visuals were just so GOOD.  I cried when my bf got me surprise tickets for one of the Chicago shows.  At her concerts I always warn the people around me that I'll be crying the whole time and to just ignore me.  I couldn't pick a favorite album.  Every one is so unique and it takes me back to what I was doing in my life at the time it was released.  (yes I am very old lol)

I like her first four albums the most:  Madonna, Like A Virgin, True Blue, and Like A Prayer.   But the Madame X concert was stunning.

I live outside the space time continuum.

Madame X, Ray of Light and American Life is my Top 3 of her albums.

I will never understand the hate towards MX - in my opinion, it's one of the most Madonna albums ever - a true return to form. It's so filled with culture, great lyrics etc. Yes - it does have a lot of autotune, but I guess I just somehow get it - for me the songs are better with it. The autotune is used in an amazing way on the album and the tour as well.

There are some of the best ever Madonna songs ever on the album - Come Alive, I Don't Search I Find, Killers Who Are Partying and Extreme Occident.

Then come the visuals - stunning! Every video is so different and beautifully made as well as the tour (one of her best shows ever PERIOD) and every single photoshoot.

Overall - even though the era got messed up by her management, social media team etc. - she and her creative team are at an all-time high.

This album is very underrated. The cohesion it has is out of this world, the time and season she released it in was stellar, the visuals really worked well with every song. People are just not here for it because of the overused autotune and a vast majority being ageist and therefore not giving her a chance.

It's indeed the best Madonna album since Confessions though, I loved every second of it!

Yes, yes and yes!! I agree with everything you two said. What’s even more impressive to me is that she made this album almost 40 years in her career:giveup: That just makes it even better. She has nothing left to prove, yet she still re-invents herself:applause:

Absolutely disgraceful to autotune the hell out of herself on Batuka - she's playing with Batuka players and its meant to be an authentic call and response song about the culture, and her voice is autotuned so much. For me, the songwriting is great, but the production is a mess on this album. the piano on Dark Ballet is literally a GarageBand stock piano, and so much of the album either sounds underproduced or overproduced. Very basic, and very fixable mistakes and very frequently. Another example is the horrible effect on Maluma's voice is Medellin in what is an otherwise great song. That song is a bop otherwise. Crazy and I Rise are my two favourites, because they sound clean, smooth, and concise. In my opinion, great artistry and so much potential songwriting-wise, but small mistakes just annoy me. Glad it was artistic though. (Sidenote: Extreme Occident should've been a standard album song because its great, but she needs to change the horrible piano sound and turn down the autotune)

It has some great songs but nothing close to Madonna’s best albums. :reductive:

That is subjective and who is comparing anyway?  You can like and album or and Era without having to always compare them to previous ones.

Well, what would Madonna’s best albums be according to you?:reductive: Maybe Madame X isn’t her all time best objectively, but it’s definitely my fav:tony:
