U.S. stocks fell sharply once again on Thursday after an address from President Donald Trump failed to quell concerns over the possible economic slowdown from the coronavirus.

The S&P 500 dropped 7% shortly after the open, triggering a 15-minute “circuit breaker,” which temporarily halts trading at the New York Stock Exchange. The broad index also joined the  Dow Jones Industrial Average in bear market territory. The 30-stock Dow slid more than 1,600 points, or 7.%. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 7%.

Just so you guys know it's only going to get worse. We are almost at the same point Italy was with cases and deaths of the Coronavirus just two weeks ago and now that country is almost completely shut down.

Not just that Trump's response to Corona ruined our Bull market run, he's brought the markets crashing 25% in a month. It's absolutely out of control, and Trump is making it worse.

Who would've figured that this is what would possibly bring him down? I mean, it's not completely his fault, especially this being about a virus. But we and his admin have zero idea what to do. And part of the "media hysteria" that people keep bringing up is due to Trump not being able to calm the public or reassure investors. It's all so sad. And now my parents are going to have to work even more...

The one time i decided i'm taking a little rest from the stock market 'cause there wasn't any entry opportunities i liked, that's when the markets decide to drop. To those that made a lot of money mainly shorting, congrats. We got this. :kara:

And he said it was a hoax stirred by the Dems. Granted, we have had a few diseases that had some bad outbreaks like SARS, Zika, and Avian Flu...but this is just way out of control and it’s become the one thing he can’t cover up.

Well atleast Trump can no longer brag about the GREAT economy he "built" during his presidency, this is gonna be another topic that's gonna take him out. Hopefully.

Here in belgium, the gov is slowly shutting down everything :spin: sport events, schools, parties, universities,... Everything is being shut down to at least mid april in the hope to contain the virus.

Skskskks I'm not that scared from the virus itself but all the notifications from uni and my sport club about everything being cancelled is making me anxious and I guess in america its sort of the same. Lots of people are anxious and that results into the stock market

Buy ARTPOP on itunes or smth?

The economic effect here in the USA in the next few months is going to be terrible.
