Yes, this pandemic is something we should take very seriously, it’s true. But people shouldn’t be panicking this much, the mass hysteria that the media is propelling is very worrisome. Everyone should just stay calm, take all the necessary health measures, and again, remain calm. This is nothing to be scared about if you just remain levelheaded.

Wash your hands, no kissing, don’t touch your face if you haven’t washed your hands yet, and just take the same measures one takes to avoid a flu or any other virus. The cancellation of big events and classes is a smart thing, that way they avoid the agglomeration of large numbers of people. But this whole sweeping the supermarkets thing and announcing the end of civilization (some people really are doing that) and over worrying is unnecessary.

public transportation is very dangerous, closed tight area where ur stuck for few minutes. more than 30 min is enough. but by all means get on ur bus

The point I'm making is that public transportation(something that millions of people have to take in order to get to work) is just one factor in spreading disease. If we're going to avoid transportation, then we must avoid all public spaces. And that doesn't even include touching doorknobs, shopping for essential needs, phones. Literally touching anything becomes a no no. Realistically, being precautious about your surroundings is important. And the best way to avoid anything is to wash hands, avoid touching the face, etc.

we'll be fine, the media loves drama they r vampires suckin on drama every chance they get. it'll die in warmer temperatures, in 2 years there'll be a vaccine, could come back next winter but less intense nobody will report on it. as for now avoid public transportations

Sure, the media wants clicks. But could you explain how it would be in Merkel's interest (she's known to be extremely calm and cautious) to say that "up to 70% of Germany could become infected"?

People need to wake up, the coronavirus is that bad. It will cause the next recession, cause tens of millions to lose their jobs, thousands if not tens of thousands and perhaps hundreds of thousands may die (depending on circumstances like how it fares in summer), and the situation will get especially worse in those places where the government is too late to act, as hospitals fill up and people who would've otherwise been cared for get sick.

Avoid touching hands, wash your hands (20 sec) with soap before and after pretty much everything, never touch your face, no hugs, no kisses, don't visit risky areas, avoid work, and call on your government to implement an overall quarantine like Italy.

It's already there. People from Korea, Japan, etc have actually gotten it from people who traveled back from the Philippines.

My nephew with leukemia or my friend with diabetes doesn’t “deserve to die” because they have health complications.

You do realize that Gaga has an auto-immune disease, right?

I hope everyone in your family and friend circle are young and one hundred per cent healthy, because these words could come back to haunt you.

lmao it’s literally a biological fact. viruses evolve and only the strongest that can fight it remain alive to pass on their genes.

there’s really nothing we can do about it, it’s the natural way. been like that since before humans existed.

sorry some can’t handle the fact that their friends and family will die sooner than later, but the virus doesn’t care.

Iran is pretty warm compare to Europe and it's in a mess, so it's not sure that it'll die in a warm temperature.

No, Iran's current temperatures are way below the threshold predicted to affect the virus. The southern hemisphere is barely getting there, and so far the countries that have the virus there, are still on phase 1 (people that caught it on other countries).  We will know for sure in the next few weeks.

the problem is that u can catch the virus just by breathing. washing ur hands can help if u touch ur face, but ultimately they use that phrase to make ppl feel like they can stop it and protect themselves. The reality is that if ur in the room or 4meters or less from someone whos infected and u breathe? Good luck to u

Wrong, the virus depends on droplets, its not aerosolized, you cant breathe it in.

You are obviously at high risk if you are in the same room with an infected person who is coughing/sneezing, and if you interact with them and what they touch, but that doesnt mean that if you breathe the same air you will get it.

Yay! A great attitude I hope every health worker and scientists adopts. Who gives a f about viruses, they happen all the time?
