What attracts LGBTQ+ to Gaga?

She always mentioned the LGBTQ+ in her interviews. Everything was "for the god and the gays". Never afraid to refrence LGBTQ+ in her songs , even in 2008 with "Poker Face" and "LoveGame" and in 2020 with "Stupid Love" and "BTW Foundation".

She loves to include the LGBTQ+ in her fandom. She is the Goddess of the LGBTQ+ , she isn't doing it for business or clout at all!

+ side question, why do we stan harder than most straights? you won't see most straight rap fans getting as into their favourite rapper as we do with our favourite artists.

I feel like it's because we're underrepresented so whenever we get a crumb of representation we get super-protective of it, like it's gold.

Economy

No idea whatsoever

I'm bi but when I first really got into her I had no idea what's so ever she was an LGBT icon

I just liked her music and become obsessed just like I had artists before her I was obsessed with (difference is with Gaga I stayed a hardcore fan permanently instead of it just being a long term obsession)

For me I think it was a coincidence but I dunno. Valid question u bring up tho :oprah:

clever answer. in the end it's not important (valid but not important. There is no 'gay music' and 'straight music'

hello hello baby.

For me, it’s always been the music. I loved her sound as a kid and the older i’ve gotten, I’ve started to realize how significant her lyrics are and how meaningful they are. I’ve begun to realize the messages behind her songs..

The one song that has truly impacted me as a teenager with low self confidence, lots of self doubt, no self esteem, lots of insecurities, etc, was DWUW. I realize how important the message was behind the song. She was saying, you can take my body away from me and use it against me, but just realize that my heart, my mind and my voice are more important than my body is.

I try to live by that message in DWUW because it reminds me that yeah, people can use my body and do whatever they want with it because thats all they can see. They cant see my mind. They cant stop my voice. They cant take away my heart.

Thats why I love Gaga. She reminds me that I am worth so much more than my body.

Like the person that started the thread to begin with. :ladyhaha: But I guess that's why I was wondering, I really didn't know.

I was a Katy Perry fan when her first album “One Of The Boys” had first released and I remember MySpace had an article on their homepage with the new Poker Face video and the title “Is Lady Gaga The New Katy Perry?” Outraged, I clicked on the article to see who this chick was and by the time I had finished watching the video I was on the phone with my mom asking her to pick up The Fame on her way home from work.

BUT it wasn’t until I saw footage of her performance at the Glastonbury Music Festival later that year with a full band, dancers, and dressed in studs and latex that I thought “damn, this bitch is Rock N’ Roll” and became a full-on fan.

All of this however happened while I thought I was straight. It wasn’t until right before ARTPOP really that I came out as not straight.

So for me, what attracted me to Lady Gaga was her Rock N’ Roll attitude towards her Pop performances. Hearing her songs performed with overdriven electric guitars replacing the synth parts was and remains f***ing rad.

I think to 1:38 in this video. She talks about how the LGBTQ+ community aren’t afraid of strong, sexual women.
Edit: Sorry, didn’t see this was already posted!

how much of gaga's fanbase do you think is LGBTQ+? I've always wondered how much of her fanbase is comprised of the LGBTQ+ community. :oprah: just wondering
