It hasn't been that long and the time between the lead and album is short but still Applause and Perfect Illusion are the leads I was a stan for and she was everywhere pushing them radio, TV, everywhere. A song may be released as a promotional single even if no commercial version of the single is available to buy So it is absolutely, by definition, a lead and promo single. It’s both! It’s a simple bop intended on getting us interested in the era. However I don’t believe it’s the main single.
