You poor soul.

Gaga actually has enough conviction and confidence to release a song and not continually say it's a promo single until she finally gets a hit. Unlike some artists. :huntyga:

She is not saying and she doesnt have to, but i know her plan was to warm up the public with a cute song and then boom, end us

No, this is her lead single. Accept it and celebrate another top 5 hit. :vegas:

I'll give you this, it doesn't feel like a lead single era due to the lack of appearances and promo. It hasn't been that long and the time between the lead and album is short but still

Applause and Perfect Illusion are the leads I was a stan for and she was everywhere pushing them :air: radio, TV, everywhere. She's oddly silent for SL but, again, the rollout is a bit different and it hasn't been that long.

You're stinky

You do know....songs rise with airplay right? A drop in the 2nd week which every lead single suffers does not require, under any circumstance, making a lead single a promo single.

It’s the lead single and it’s doing fine. This era is giving me serious early Applause era vibes with the misinformation.

Also the “radio 2020 is still ours” makes no sense in the context of the thread. It’s doing great on radio :rip: You’re acting like its serving MR radio update pre-SB

It might not officially be one but it kind of seems to be one right now.

Definition of lead single: A lead single is the first single to be released from a studio album, by a musician or a band, usually before the album itself is released.

definition of promo single: A promotional single is a single that is made available to radio stations, nightclubs, music publications, and other media outlets by a record label to promote a commercial single or album. A song may be released as a promotional single even if no commercial version of the single is available to buy

So it is absolutely, by definition, a lead and promo single. It’s both! It’s a simple bop intended on getting us interested in the era. However I don’t believe it’s the main single. There will obviously be a title track or something that completely encapsulates the whole music/happiness-as-math theme
