I don't understand why the "progressives" react this way. In the end, incrementalism is still a step *forward*, not backward. If you don't support the progress, whatever little it may be, you're reactionary and regressive, not a true progressive. You were never in it for the right reasons. Sorry not sorry. There’s nothing to apologize for bc you didn’t say anything. The Climate Crisis has a due date before BAD damage is irreversible. Student debt has a due date before people are so straddled with debt that when they pay it off, it’s too late to create and sustain a family. Medicare HAD a due date when the first person died bc they couldn’t afford to afford healthcare - how many more must die? How many? I do agree it is reactionary to reply to adequately reply to these issues, moderates don’t do that. The progressive label comes in when we lead the biggest and boldest action to make real change. The only reason incriminate steps exist is to not piss off the rich. Most of the country wants M4A. There is no valid reason for moderate steps that don’t get the job done. 20 minutes ago, JusKeepBreathin said: It's not life and death for you because... You don't live here. You’re clearly not voting for yourself only, and I support a candidate that’s gonna be better for all. Real change happens when you put forward ideas that are actually achievable and sustainable. Bernie's plans were neither fiscally responsible nor congressionally feasible. He didn't want to nuke the filibuster, nor was he a great choice for downballot races. He himself said he had no idea how to pay for his plans or how they'd get passed. How would the change ever occur if there's no mechanism to bring about that change and reset all the progress made? Yes progressivism is sorely needed to advance good ideas. But progressivism without pragmatism is a pipe dream. If you're going to keep denying the quarter that you can have for a dollar that you can never have, then you're being your own worst enemy. He's not the only vehicle for progressivism and his supporters need to stop acting as gatekeepers of progressivism. My biggest reason for not supporting him was not because I'm against progressive ideas. It's because he had no ideas how to achieve his own desired outcomes. To bring about that change, he relied on a "revolution" that was based on probability. The young voters just didn't turn out for him in the numbers he wanted. That's how unsustainable his plan to achieve progressive success was. "I was protected by the monks of Azarath, I was raised by my friends. They are my family, this is my home and you are not welcome here."

That's how unsustainable his plan to achieve progressive success was. And do you know how those ideas and change gets achieved? When you have the power of the people. Women’s rights and civil rights were not achieved from the top down, but from the bottom up. When the people care, and start a public pressure campaign, anything can get done. He needed a passionate grassroots movement, and the dem establishment just stepped on and squandered that. Bernie’s plans were fiscally responsible, and he had a plan to pay for them. Always had. It’s even on his site rn. If you actually wanna talk about fiscal responsibility, then notice M4A saves $450M a year, and how an the current healthcare system AND a public option remains the more expensive route. Universal health care is NOT a pipe dream when it’s achieved in counties significantly poorer than the US. That’s why Medicare For All has majorly support in EVERY state tested, but yet everyone voted for a candidate who doesn’t support it. The MSM didn’t give them permission to, by saying he’s unelectable and it’s tragic since Bernie is at the mainstream of American opinion when it comes to healthcare, education and climate. There is no such thing as “too expensive.” It’s just the rich that are in the way and don’t wanna give up to pay a modest amount more, and that is the real issue.
