And a really smart way to transition into being a woman in front of the media (and the whole world). She's always said she dressed in baggy clothes because she didn't want people to talk about her body, especially because she's underage. Now that she's 18 she probably wants to start expressing her femininity as a woman. And what a way to make a statement about how she is more than just her body, while also revealing herself in a vulnerable way.
