The first song was so terrible, a complete mess that went nowhere, the concept of the video was cringe, just... a complete disaster . And now this song, ehm... . I'm too old to pretend the song is great just because it's different, for a Nightwish song, it sucks. Objectively, the song itself isn't bad, I believe if this was released by some obscure folk act, it'd be ok. But Nightwish is a different thing, this is way below their reputation. "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" took me FOREVER to enjoy, and I could only do so because of Floor's stellar performance, the songs themselves felt really tired. But I was excited for their new material, mainly because I love Floor, and them having more experience with her on tour, etc... I thought they'd just take better advantage of her strenghts, etc. But based on "Noise" and this new song, ehm... After Forever outsold TBH: I'm glad Floor is receiving massive exposure in Europe tho, she's high-key receiving more attention than the band itself, I bet Tuomas is so happy about it HEART OF EVER-FROST Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

He wants people to forget about Tarja already, and I'm sure he prays everynight for Floor to erase Tarja's memory from the fanbase's mind forever . Floor said herself that he wanted to re-record the old songs with her on vocals . But he needs to get over it, she was a founding member and the one who gave Nightwish its signature element, he needs to just take the L, and move on, fans will never get over Tarja. He needs to focus on Floor now, and exploit her strenghts, which he is not doing, clearly. It took SEVERAL, several plays for me to grow fond of some tracks (I still don't claim Élan tho, too bland). But it's not a very catchy album, it has no hits or memorable songs. In any case, I'll wait for the new album with an optimistic mind. I'm not a Nightwish fan anymore, but I am a Floor fan, so I whatever she puts out, I will check. I feel like Tuomas has matured into one of the very best composers and songwriters of his generation. More people should know about & celebrate Nightwish for what it is tbh. Nope, it was a Floor interview from last year, they asked her about Tarja and she said they're in touch. The reporter asked her if they talk about Nightwish, and she said that yes, they do. She clarified however that they don't engage in the band's "drama" with Tarja, they share their experiences, but don't entertain themselves with band drama when they talk. The reporter then mentioned that fans had a very positive reception of her take on certain "Tarja" tracks, and asked her if they ever considered making studio versions of said songs. And she admitted that yes, it was discussed. They considered re-recording old albums with Floor's vocals, but ultimately discarded the idea, because that would be like "trying to re-write history". To be honest, I'm just ASSUMING it was Tuomas' idea, maybe it was not . But I dislike him so I'm prone to always assume the worst from him . But yeah, the band considered re-recording older tracks, according to what Floor said. No idea if it was specifically Holopainen's idea tho, that is just an assumption of mine. Guest Posted March 21, 2020 Share Posted March 21, 2020 This song has Last Of the Wilds vibes. This album is definitely making me interested into their new stuff again. I skipped out on their last album because I couldn't get into it (in their case, I was comparing it a lot to Dark Passion Play and Imaginarium and I could just never get past that). I can't wait.
