Arturo 40,746
I agree that Heart Attack is good. Better than Skyscraper for sure.
Math 92
i was checking Demi's discography and how come Don't Forget was not a single?
Mills 446
Mariah Carey has come to a point in her career that whether her single would underperform or not, it would not greatly affect her image of being among the greatest of all time, all thanks to her monumental achievements in the 1990's and the 2000's. Her success in the past would somehow always overshadow whatever shortcoming she might have in the present and beyond.
Ozzy8923 9
Where do u get ur sources http://www.celebrity...arey-net-worth/ That says $500M. But I didn't remember the exact # so I was off by $100M. But still a big net worth! - Also, it's worth noting that although Mariah's last album was her least successful studio album in the US, it still generated the most praise any of her albums have had in the entire 2000's decade, so maybe with her next album she might just find even more critical acclaim and add more to her legacy. At this point, it's more important to make good MUSIC than to achieve good sales because the good music speaks volume whereas sales mean nothing. ie. Wrecking Ball (Bruce Springsteen) vs. MDNA. Both released in the same year, one received a 79 on MetaCritic vs. MDNA's 64 and both sold 1.6M WW. So, who came out on top?! Same commercial success, but Bruce takes the cake because he DELIVERED musically. I can only hope the same for Mariah.
Mills 446
And speaking of Mariah Carey, the artist who'd most likely surpass her HOT 100 record, Rihanna continues to have Pour It Up at #1 in the R&B / Hip-Hop Songs Airplay chart while her other single, Stay, got the honor of highest debut in the Adult Pop Songs chart at #36. Moreover, Taylor Swift's IKYWT spends its 6th week at #1 in the Pop Songs chart.

I don't think Rihanna deserves to dethrone Mariah as the queen of billboard Hot 100. A woman that uses ****ty tactics to make her singles #1 and hasn't been involved in her career at all, versus probably the best voice in the music industry, that wrote and coproduced 17 of her 18 #1s singles... it's just not right for me, but it is what it is. I like Stay though, it's a nice ballad and a good change for Rihanna. Also I'm rooting for Demi's latest single success. She may be a "screecher" as some people call her, but at least she really has some talent and that's something very rare right now.

Mills 446
It seems there would be huge uproar once Rihanna ties Mariah's record, similar to how most of the Michael Jackson fans were not that welcoming to the news of Katy Perry tying his HOT 100 record of most #1s from one album. Resistance to change would always be inevitable. There's no question that Mariah Carey's voice is incomparable with the today's generation of pop stars, point blank. But to be fair, there were also talks that she did also use some tactics to get some of those #1s back in the 1990's through allegedly discounting her singles to 49 cents - 99 cents in a way to boost them up in the HOT 100 rankings. It's among the main arguments being brought up by her critics even up to this day. A lot are heavily criticizing the tactics being used by the labels of Katy Perry and Rihanna to get those #1s, but didn't others before them also use the same tactics to their advantage back then?
Americano 31,061
All of the biggest stars use discounts, it's the labels more than the stars themselves. Kind of sad, but we all need to remember this is a business too. :)
Deacon 5
what is that AWOLNATION doing in the top 100 of itunes? It's like it's been there for a decade already. I was wondering the same thing a week or two ago. I heard the song on a commercial for a new History Channel show -- that's the only explanation I can come up with lol. Lion Heart 15,041
i was checking Demi's discography and how come Don't Forget was not a single? Strange. I always thought it was a single. Another thing, why are her singles released years apart. Album 1: Get Back - August 12, 2008 La La Land- April 10 2009 Album 2: Here We Go Again- June 23, 2009 Remember December- Jan. 18, 2010 Album 3: Skyscraper- July 17, 2011 Give Your Heart a Break- Jan 23 2012 Longevity I suppose, but still... inb4 her next single is released next year ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀
