Guest
this and No Love Allowed slay me completely with this floppy era ahead of her.....I call that she will release the 8th album in the late summer this time, she didn't get the monster hit WFL was and with singles like Stay by the end of the spring everyone wouldn't remember the Unapologetic (kind of) era Omg yes! Completly same here! If only Love Without Tragedy would be an own song and Mother Mary a bonus track...
Ander_Monster 0
Ke$ha's problem is that she was gone long enough for Nicki and Katy to take over her niche in the market. Katy with the carefree party music, Nicki with the rapping over pop. Wow, thats such a perfect explanation
Americano 31,061
Well that's your opinion. Stop being annoying.. :lmao:
Morphine Prince 106,769
I can't believe people are all jumping on the bandwagon with Macklemore. I can't stand "Thrift Shop" and I find his voice annoying.

Mills 446
Relatively new acts topping the HOT 100 chart are always welcome. I'd rather have them than the same artists hitting #1 time and time again. And it's widely commendable how they do it since it isn't that easy to break into the mainstream, contrary to public notion, I guess.
Bye 3,947
At least they are buying the album ;) something to be thankful for at least. Album sales > single sales imo

MANiCURE1295 8,673
At least they are buying the album ;) That's even better! Hopefully by the end of the tour she'll have sold 8 million worldwide! Quite a feat for a pop star in today's music industry.

Galactic Mess 1,393
Thrift Shop's lyrics are fun but sonically it sounds average to me... Nothing special. Maybe that's why I don't like rap/hip-hop - no melody at all, just a boring flow of words :(Did C'mon tank already?
Cherry 17
"Suit & Tie" just broke "Born This Way"'s record. Not that bad, though, considering how pop radio has expanded since "BTW"'s release: Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie" (RCA), featuring Jay Z, makes a record-setting debut on Billboard's Mainstream Top 40 chart, which measures pop radio airplay, as monitored by Nielsen BDS, soaring in at No. 14. "Suit" logged 6,045 plays in the Jan. 14-20 tracking week, with spins on all 157 of the Mainstream Top 40 chart's reporters, pushing it past Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," which opened (also at No. 14) with 4,602 plays the week of Feb. 26, 2011, for the highest debut-week plays sum on Mainstream Top 40, which launched the week of Oct. 3, 1992. (The chart panel expanded from 141 to 157 reporters late last year.) With its No. 14 arrival, "Suit" takes over as the highest-debuting song by a male artist in the Mainstream Top 40 chart's archives. It bests the No. 19 entrance of Jon Secada's "If You Go" the week of May 14, 1994. Among all acts, only Mariah Carey's "Dreamlover" launched at a higher rank (No. 12, Aug. 14, 1993); "Suit" and "Born" now share the mark for the second-highest lift-off among all artists. Mills 446
"Suit & Tie" just broke "Born This Way"'s record. Not that bad, though, considering how pop radio has expanded since "BTW"'s release: S&T did, but it's also greatly dropping already in radio. I just hope Justin Timberlake would promote it sooner than later since I'm actually rooting for it to stay longer, at least within the upper half of the Top 10 since it's expected to vault into the top five of the HOT 100 this week, as projected by Billboard. Ozzy8923 9
Radio has expanded far beyond my understanding. It's influence on what is popular hasn't. I'm baffled that there are so many songs now passing 200M in airplay, or getting close to that amount, when in 2011, the highest a song got was perhaps 150M-160M AI. With 100M-105M AI you could crack the Top 5-6 on Radio Songs and now it barely gets you into the Top 10. It's definitely having to do something with labels, because the more radio there is, the more labels can control what gets played. I remember when TEOG had around 64M AI (from Pop, not as a whole) and it got to #3 on Pop Songs but now if you have around 63M AI from Pop you barely make the Top 10 (S&S is at #10 on Pop and has around 63M AI from that format). The first song I remember to cross 100M AI from Pop alone was Stronger by Kelly Clarkson and since then almost every #1 on Pop Songs has been able to cross 100M on that format. And spins are increasing HEAVILY. I remember Gaga once broke the record for highest spins back in like 2009 and she got like maybe 10,000 spins and now every song in the Top 5 on Pop has 14,000-15,000 spins.
