boysboysboys 278
#28 98 + 30 + 5 = 85 One Direction LWWY (-25) NOOOOOOO!!! I like that song! Magoo, will Gaga benefit from increased airplay of her singles right now, months before the release? Are there any drawbacks?
Alii 2,039
#28 98 + 30 + 5 = 85 One Direction LWWY (-25) It doesn`t deserve to be a hit :nails:
Bad 32
So November 19th is the release date for Rihanna and for the next Roman Regurgitated. Any predictions as to who will take number one, or will One Direction's second week manage to block them? tbh if Red sells like Speak Now, I wouldn't be surprised if Taylor blocks both Nicki and Rihanna. I expect Taylor to be #1 for a while, except the week when 1D releases.
Valentino 4
Oh, I thought Queen Ke¢ha was coming back to SLAY? Oh it's...it's gonna be a slow climb? Oh... okay.

Her sales will be front loaded, after which any new release getting 150k will beat her.
Magoo 6
You can look it up. I can't find the chart track for the other four weeks it took to go to #1 but I do believe it was a gradual rise every week, as a single should do. I am honestly surprised that Diamonds isn't following this pattern. Is it true that US radio isn't overly supporting it? WFL: Week 1: #16 with 105K sales in 4 days Week 2: #9 with 159K sales Week 3: #7 with 149K sales (mediabase airplay 41m) Week 4: #6 with 174K sales Week 5: #2 with 231K sales Week 6: #1 with 243K sales Diamonds Week 1: #16 with 112K sales in 5 days Week 2: #18 with 108K sales (mediabase airplay 49m) doesn't look that great for Diamonds

Her sales will be front loaded, after which any new release getting 150k will beat her. Speak Now sold almost 3 mil in only 10 weeks. The only reason it was knocked off from #1 was because it had to compete with Susan Boyle (remember her? ). November 19th is the week of Black Friday so I'm sure Taylor will get a holiday sales boost.
Magoo 6
Magoo, will Gaga benefit from increased airplay of her singles right now, months before the release? Are there any drawbacks? What, like service a new track to radio now but not release it to itunes for a couple of months? - it would lose a lot of sales to illegal downloads and people may be fed up with it by the time it is released for sale. - the radios will only play it to a limited extent until it has become a hit, and to be a hit it needs to be on sale. They do this in the UK (delay itunes release) to compress all the sales into the first charting week to get the bragging rights of a #1 but those songs often bomb the second week... but then in the UK the chart is wholly due to sales. boysboysboys 278
Lols, I actually like Your Body more on radio than the newest releases, and that song is loud as hell What, like service a new track to radio now but not release it to itunes for a couple of months? - it would lose a lot of sales to illegal downloads and people may be fed up with it by the time it is released for sale. - the radios will only play it to a limited extent until it has become a hit, and to be a hit it needs to be on sale. Not new songs of course, because we do risk burnout, but maybe those from BTW at least. I'm not sure if it will have a similar effect, or if a certain point in time will help instead. Ah sorry - you mean will charting of ARTPOP songs benefit from having BTW or Fame songs played on the radio more now? Well to start with yes, because Gaga would be back in the General Public's conscience. But increasing exposure now, will cause the new era to burn out sooner, maybe after only the second single. Also the radios won't just increase plays of Gaga's old songs, Interscope would have to payola them to do it, and that money would be better spent on radio deals for the new ARTPOP single(s). Plausible, I like that. Doesn't the Haus have more than enough money? I mean, look at how little Rihanna earned from the TTT era, and yet she has radio deals left and right. I'm not even sure payola is the answer; can't plain influence just work?
