I don't want her to rush release her album (although let's be honest, it's not like she does anything other than record vocals...), but now would've been the perfect time for Britney to release her next album. Riding off the success of S&S and whatever exposure she still has from X-Factor. She'll end up releasing a single late this year or early next year and by then people will have forgotten about her again.

Rumors suggest that the album will be released before Britney begins her residency. The residency is set to begin in late fall or early spring. So I expect a Q4 release. Perhaps not as late as Circus (last week of November/first week of December). I hope they're eyeing release dates similar to that of Red. August or July lead single and the album in October or early November.

With S&S still in the top 20 of the HOT 100 chart and the top 40 of iTunes after over 18 weeks since its release, the drawing power of Britney Spears clearly still has longevity. So proud of her.   Is Album 8 still pushing through for this year?

We're thinking it is.

Britney has been working on the album since summer 2012 so by the time the record is released, she'll have worked on it for over a year. Confirmed producers are Danja, Hit- Boy, and will.i.am. I think we'll get to see Bloodyshy & Avant again on this album as well. No Max Martin and Dr.Luke confirmed or rumored yet, so there's hope that this album will be a different direction than the last 2.

I'm hoping for a radio deal for the lead single (JT got one) and a Target deal (P!nk and JT got one). Both P!nk and JT are on the same label and a Target deal is literally flop-proof so that could do wonders for Britney, especially with a nice commercial.

Not Britney and will.i.am having the last big dance smash! THEIR POWER.

Fixed  :awesome:

But I agree that Britney is the main reason of S&S success

This sounds pperfect tbh. If Bloodyshy & Avant are producers then i can't wait to hear a Toxic oriented lead single. The only problem is Will.I.Am I REALLY HOPE SHE JUST STOP WORKING WITH THAT GUY OMG.

I never heard of him. And yes sounds like a small flop for a debuting artist. But it could chart in the top 25.

Pure Adrenaline

Wait- then when did electro-pop/dance music become a trend? I thought it was already popular in 2007 Fergie had that electro-ish "Clumsy" song and Britney's entire Blackout album. Plus, I think "Sexyback" was released around that time.

Its weird to think that there was a time when dance/pop music wasn't dominating... :o

Do you think when ARTPOP drops with these new rules it is possible for all the songs on it to chart on the top 100 the first week when the album gets the released? I mean when born this way came out Born this way, Judas, The edge of glory, Hair, You and i and Marry the night was all charting in the top 100 and with this new billboard rule with streaming i think it is possible.

22 is reminding me of C'mon's performance....which also performed like MTN :reductive:

I'd say it's definitely possible as long as they release each song on Vevo as well. They did that with BTW's songs, so I would assume they will.

If they put all the songs on youtube like they did with BTW then hell yes we will have a lot of entries on the top 100

A post album single syndrome might have caused the relatively underperformance of Taylor Swift's 22 (HOT 100 peak= #26). In the same way on what happened to Britney Spears' Criminal (#55), Gaga's Marry The Night (#29), and Rihanna's Man Down (#59). It seems nothing but normal, given that 22 is now the fourth single from Red. Even Adele's 4th single from the best-selling 21, Rumours Has It (#16), did not peak within the top 10 of the HOT 100 chart. Among the female contemporary artists out there, the only exception to this would be Katy Perry. But I've a feeling that she'd eventually end up being a part of this once her new album comes this year.
