It is relatable to a certain demographic. For example: 12 year old girls. Who buy music......

Umm, that is still not relatable...it is kid-friendly, bubblegum, easy to understand, but 12 year olds are still not going to relate to those lyrics.

Taylor can sell all the albums and singles she wants to, but she's hugely sacrificing her songwriting and musical integrity for it. This 22 **** is making her look more like Katy and less like Taylor, who was once a unique artist. It's sad how generic she's become. But I guess that's what happens when you continue to act and write the exact same way you did 5 years ago.

"Make fun of our exes" I'm sure middle school aged girls make fun of their exes with their girl-friends all the time

"Dress up like hipsters" I'm sure they like to dress up and take pictures of themselves in annoying alter-egos such as nerds, hipsters, cholas etc. and post them on facebook

"fall in love with strangers" do I need to explain this one? Everyone "falls in love" with strangers at school. In other words, has that one hot person at school that you don't even know but always look at.

How can 12 year olds relate to Locked Out Of Heaven... Scratch that

How can they relate to Thirft Shop?

I heard that guys are proud of their cockledoodledoo :hor:, and gurls dig(ck) that.

It true, but Gaga-Katy-Rihanna have the pop ground so well covered between them, it's hard not to vaguely resemble one of them.

How can 12 year olds related to a song about being 22? Can someone explain it pleaseeee

Because 22 year olds don't do that ****. The stereotypical 22 year old goes to college, then goes to the clubs on weekends and finds someone to ****.

The only 22 year old as immature as that is Taylor Swift herself.

I'm sure the REAL Taylor does just that ;)

S&S is once again rising in iTunes. It's back in the top five. Talk about longevity. And so far, it's the 3rd top-selling single of 2013 with 1.2 million digital sales, only behind Taylor Swift's IKYWT (#2 with 1.4 million digital sales) and Thrift Shop (the current top-selling single of this year and the only single to sell more than 2 million this year). Ho Hey and LOOH sum up the top five, both selling more than 1 million copies.

And speaking of Taylor Swift, her album, Red, is also the third top-selling album of 2013 so far, only behind Unorthodox Jukebox (#2) and Babel (#1).

I'm sure she does and more.

But she's marketing a different personality. The same personality her consumers have.

I NEED Sweet Nothing to go like top 5. It probably won't though  I'm so glad Stay is up there also! Has it hit #1? It needs to. It deserves it -beautiful song and it makes me happy that Mikky is getting so much promotion from this.

Btw this summer/fall is gonna be so intense
