craig 680
Alicia Keys lost audience on Pop and Rhythmic. She better hope GOF can hold off Calvin & Florence this week, if she ever wants to squeak into top 10.
Ozzy8923 9
Timberlake ****ed up? Hardly. Not taking the easy EDM route and staying true to his R&B zone couldn't have been any wiser. And it's not like it was a commercial failure. It already hit the charts all over the world. The music video has yet to be released. He hasn't even performed it live yet. S&T will most definitely pave the way for his new album better than well. Beyoncé is Beyoncé and I think it's safe to say that she'll continue with her version of R&B. And she'll be good at it. These are career-defining moments. "4" may not have been a commercial megasmash but the music nerd crowd loved it and it made sure that Beyonce's legacy will live longer than those of produced-to-death EDM songstresses. I'm ready to bet on Beyoncé and Justin to together beat this struggling EDM phase to death. But it's BAD R&B and very outdated. Why pursue R&B if you won't make it innovative? ****, I have Miguel and Frank Ocean if I ever want to listen to critically acclaimed R&B music but, in the end, Timberlake will be the one garnering commercial success while his R&B is no where near as good as theirs. Not to mention, their sound is innovative and groundbreaking vs. S&T's annoying production, Robin Thicke leftover teas, and terrible Jay Z verse. Brandy's album was amazing too and yet it won't sell one-tenth of Beyonce's album. Not here for them bringing back R&B, when there were artists who could of brought it back but with BETTER material. Ch... who the hell do they think they are? Some inflated egos they have thinking they can bring back an entire genre with their mediocre musical offerings.
Ozzy8923 9
* Oh, Bieber. Let me go all Nick-mode now... SONG PREMIERE: Right Here - Justin Bieber ft. Drake. CONFIRMED FOURTH single from Believe. SOURCE: http://www.allaccess.com/top40-rhythmic/future-releases There goes the perfect era I was rooting for. All Around The World would of been the perfect choice. Instead, he chooses this R&B mess. NO MA'AM. After a successful string of Top 10's on the Hot 100 and Pop radio, and 1 Triple Platinum and 2 Double Platinum singles, he just throws it all down the drain with this one. BROSEIDON 1,214
I thought All Around the World was confirmed as the fourth single. He just ruined this era.

But.... you can't pursue music unless you're constantly innovating? What kind of a bullscheisse statement is that? JT sure as hell is entitled to put out whatever he likes, and this classic style is what he went with this time. How does that get your panties in a bunch? I consider Timbaland's luxurious production the best part of Suit & Tie.

Sometimes it IS better to not innovate and just release a commercial album for the sake of one's own career. What bothers me is the notion that he thinks he can revive an entire genre based on his underwhelming lead single. I think it undermines the work of other R&B artists who have released superior material. That's it mostly. I realize I came off as very hostile, and I apologize but I can't bring myself to respect Timberlake and his work if he keeps thinking he can release songs like S&T and create a new musical revival with it. The song is OK but that's it, certainly not the song worthy of bringing back R&B to the mainstream.

WarriorPrince 1
Yay i'm glad to see that Justin will flop in the US with his next single. Edit: Copying the BTW era, with one 3x Platinum, two 2x Platinums. Let's see if he will get a Judas or a MTN kind of single. :troll:

Innovation ≠not-commercial Classic R&B ≠commercial You make it sound like unless you're "innovating" (whatever that means in the end) then you're going all commercial. That, of course, is not true. You can very well stick to your roots and go with the style you're comfortable with instead of trying something new without going commercial. Putting out R&B in this music climate is very far from going commercial. Also it's good to keep in mind that while you aren't fond of S&T, a lot of other people are, including me. I think it's awesome and can't wait for his future material.

kupo 201
I don't care what Bey releases, as long as it's more Countdown/Run the World and a whole lot less Nuclear. :eww:
