I seriously am hating Interscope... They are taking FOREVER to release the second singles off Paradise and Halcyon. Interscope comes across as either very lazy, really cheap, or both.

If it sticks around long enough to hit the 1 million mark in sales, I'll be somewhat happy. I think it's around 700K right now.

Yeah well that would be great. I think it will hit 1m. Im happy for all it's got, I just wish it had more radio support.

Well she'll skip the Grammy promotion.

She could use the summer time to have a huge summer jam.

She will probably use the 2013 VMAs promotion ! This is pretty sure since she skipped last year.

Than there's the holiday sales boost.

So maybe she'll release a single for the summer and the album a bit later to benefit the VMAs + holiday sales.

Or she'll use the first quarter of 2013 like BTW. Maybe she'll wait for the huge awards show/event hypes to die (Grammy, SuperBowl, Oscars) and than hit everyone with a single once it's more calm.

I can definitely see ARTPOP being released in the 3rd or 4th quarter.

3rd quarter = July, August, September (will mean the album will have a summer feel with bright and positive vibes).

4th quarter = Oct, Nov, December, meaning she'll benefit from the rising sales of albums and the run up to Xmas would help immensely.

But Katy better BRING IT. It's been 2.5 yrs. since Teenage Dream and it's about time it gets a follow up. I want POSITIVE reviews this time. :crossed: And some more dance oriented bops because the ones on TD were more like straight forward POP and not necessarily dance (I mean, one can tell the difference. Compare Luke's work on TD - songs like LFN and TOTGA - to WAY more dance oriented songs like HIAM and TTWE from FF).

Katy's last era was just :legend:

If she's smart, she'll stick with the same formula.

I'd rather turn into a huge hater than wait that much longer

This. I really can't wait. First it was late 2012, then January 2013, then "before spring 2013" and now maybe June? Oh Gaga...

As much as I understand her + Interscope's strategy, I must say that she is losing fans. Of course fans like most of us on GGD can wait. However, my playlist is starving for new Gaga music

I'd prefer she doesn't. That era was drawn out so long that I couldn't even fan for her anymore. She was my #2, but now she's probably not even in my top 10.

Possible but I have trouble thinking Gaga would wait again few months after the tour. The BTWBT is a huge promotion and using the ending of the tour as an hype is a good solution too. Not using that is kinda wasting it.

I'm really lost concerning ARTPOP. I think she should clear things up because everybody is lost I guess.

Gaga shouldn't rush this album just because some fans want a spring release and more slayage. God knows that I would of wished for Britney to spend as much time with her music (as much as I love it) as Gaga does. The same could be said of Madonna who popped out MDNA in 2 seconds just to tour and spent like 6 months on it and was doing a floppy movie instead. And Rihanna is the worst case of all with her material experiencing a heavy decline year after year since Rated R (her best album, which she ACTUALLY spent time making).

Loud outsold Rated R in US and WW, even TTT sold the same that Rated R and WW. She is far from decline. Rated R is overrated, just because the critics give good reviews doesn't mean that is her best.

And many artist took long time and end up making bad albums, hopefully this wont happen with Gaga. Even if she does her best song/album, the public always will see her as a pop artist not Mozard or the genius of our generation

I should of been more clear. I meant a decline critically not commercially. And your last sentence isn't completely true. Look at Madonna. Her second most acclaimed album is Like A Prayer which is her fourth major commercial release, just like ARTPOP is Gaga's 4th major commercial release. She can easily score plenty of acclaim with critics and POP fans alike and that is very important for having a long and fruitful career. Where would Britney be without In The Zone or Madonna without Like A Prayer or Janet Jackson without Rhythm Nation or Michael Jackson without Dangerous? This album release is CRUCIAL for the progression of Gaga's career and it could mean either becoming a cult act (it's starting to happen) or solidifying her spot as one of the most influential pop acts of the last decade. I will NOT allow for her to mess/rush this album simply for the sake of fans who can't sit and wait for a few more months.

What I tried to say is: take a long time making an album does not equal as making a good album, sometimes yes, but not always. TFM didn't took many time (It has 8 songs but were 8 amazing songs) and was a complete success. commercially and critically.

I see your point Gaga needs this album to be one of her best and I know she can do it. But come on, is taking so much time and is not giving us hints since the album title announcement.

I will wait, but I'm kinda tired of speculations and theories :laughga:

Considering the tremendous feedback she got with the chart performances of the singles from Teenage Dream, I'd rather also have her bring her A-game with her next album, since after all it's presumed everything she'd release will be greatly welcomed by radio and the GP itself. Now that it's reported that Sia Furler is working with her for the TD follow-up, I think we'd get a better album this time around. And for those who'd still want a Teenage Dream vibe on the next album in some way, Bonnie Mckee is still on board.

I'm honestly here for anything new from Katy. If she's takes a new step forward and puts out a very different dark record I'm good with that, and I would also be totally fine with Teenage Dream 2.0. I mean she just makes flawless pop records and they will obviously do well with the GP and on radio either way. I can't wait tbh.

I'd be fine with a summer release for ARTPOP at the earliest. It would be one exciting season of the year for pop music fans, since it's also when Katy Perry's expected to drop her third major-label album. Having competition for chart supremacy is fun, and it does bring the best out of everybody involved. So why not?
