US Charts Discussion (Gaga single tracking: August)

I don't think it will do well but it'd be pretty cool if it had even a modest run on the charts. :toofunny:

If Interscope and Gaga are smart then they'll just debut the song and release to radio on a Monday like Taylor did. Better chance at going #1, but without the #1 debut. I could care less if it debuts at 80 something since it would likely go #1 the second week.

Agreed. It worked with Taylor Swift, and hopefully, it'd do the same for Gaga. A hot-shot debut at #1 in the HOT 100 chart seems implausible anyway, given with the new rules. Not even Boyfriend was able to do it, despite its 521K opening week sales.

As for S&T, it's being predicted to sell between 330K - 350K by the end of the tracking week. And with over 31 million audience impressions already garnered since its release, it's expected to debut this week, based alone on the AI. This reminds me of how WANEGBT debuted last year as well.

Well, C'mon is included in my daily playlist, I love it and I thought it deserves to be in the top 10 also. But imo, Ke$ha needs to learn that not all her songs will be a top 10 hit.

Honestly, it's Ke$ha's label. They tried to play it super safe this era but it backfired on them. Even if C'mon were to become a hit, it wouldn't move any albums. You need to take some risks to convince people to spend $15 on you.

Daylight is so annoying, cant believe it's so close to the top 10

their worst single to date

I agree. It doesn't even sound like it was professionally mastered. I love Maroon 5 on a whole, but I haven't enjoyed their new material. How could Adam hear the playback of the Daylight vocals and think they sounded good? I don't know, it's beyond me. He's such a capable pop vocalist but Daylight sounds like me singing in my shower.

Edit: I just read an article on Billboard and saw this quote:

"If there is no radio, it's got to have what I call 'the WTF factor,'" Waxman says. "The second you hear it, you've got to be like, 'What the **** is this?' If it doesn't have that, it's not going to stand out. It's just going to be wallpaper."

That's pretty much what I was getting at with C'mon. It's a great song, but it's just wallpaper. It doesn't stand out from the other million electro-pop songs created in the past year.

mte. I mean, I'm not the biggest Ke$ha fan to begin with, but it's so...safe. Even Die Young was safe, especially compared to the rest of the album. It's as if they have huge hits like Supernatural, but they go with songs that fit her specific...niche?

And Daylight :pukey: it sounds so generic and Adam's vocals so robotic. I mean, I thought Payphone and OMN sounded robotic. This is just too much

And I think the intro to S&T that's attached to the song when you buy it is pretty bad. And the Jay-Z part is pointless. Other than that, it isn't a...really bad song. At least it's something  I'm just looking forward to the music video.

So on the radio today I heard both Right Now and Nobody's Business  but not Stay haha. What is the actual second single? Why would stations randomly play non singles, that doesn't happen very often

Stations play what they want if it's from a high profile artist. I hear Hair a lot.

Well I don't hear it a lot, but I hear it a lot for not being a single. About 3 times since May 2011.

Looks like C'mon is seeing the Pop Radio top 20 effect now. It just randomly jumped to #33.

I see a Va Va Voom situation :awesome:
