The US is the only market that matters, GGD is the only stanboard that forgets that lol.

I tried telling this to another member............ didn't work out too well :laughga:

It went double platinum, Top 10 on pop and on the Hot 100, and got good airplay on HAC.

None of the nonsensical/delusional fan choices would've done that.

AMEN. Great single era tbh

Now. it WAS a flop but not the biggest of her career (WW it might be one of her biggest flops, but I'm talking US). I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman and Boys both peaked outside the Hot 100 with Boys peaking at, I believe, #122. Not to mention, MY Prerogative peaked at #101 and Do Somethin' peaked at #100. So, she's had her fair share of flops in the US before Criminal and Radar peaked at #88 but sold around 600K so it's not too bad of a flop. :laughga:

What. I'm not a girl, nor yet a woman was a huuuge hit over here! A big part of my childhood!!

I'd say the music markets in Japan and England are pretty important too. Those two and the US are the big three.

I wish i understood why the US is the only market that matters because seriously it makes little sense to me.

It's not the only one that matters, but it is the biggest, and thus matters the most. This is because the US purchases more music than any other country.

Brazil always suports the big girls... Criminal, Run The World (Girls), MTN, Gimme All Your Loving and Your Body were all hits here :flutter:

Edit: if we actually bought music, gaga would not need to worry about cash at all lol

Not always.

Both You and I and Judas are around 2.5M singles sold WW. The difference is that 2M of Y&I sales come from the US and only around 800K-900K of Judas singles sales come from the US. It makes more sense to me to say that Judas was bigger because it flopped in less countries and made more impact than Y&I. Gaga doesnt need the US because she gets lots of sales outside of it even though she is almost an exception on the pop field, it really shows how the US market is overrated. And by saying that the US is the only relevant market you are indirectly saying that Taylor Swift is a much bigger artist than Gaga. Without Japan, Canada, Europe, Australia, and South America Gaga wouldnt be half as sucessful as she is today.

I meant that in general, the US purchases more music than any other country. Look at the pictures below if you need more clarification.

Oh and apparently, Germany overtook England as the biggest market in Europe, making in #3 worldwide. But that was in early 2011. I wonder if that's still the case today.

Yeah i know that honey.

But i dont really understand what my country is doing in that first graph...

Single sales are so low here. Songs reach #1 with 30-60 singles sold. :flop: Maybe it's because of physical album sales.

Other music markets matter, but the US is clearly the most important. By using just one market Taylor Swift's record sales are impossibly large. The other markets only are significant when counted together and thankfully, Gaga does well in them.

It'd be nice if her success stateside mirrored her success abroad. Her sales would be astronomical.

So The US is the only market that matters when we talk about Gaga's success, but we dis Taylor Swift for being local in the only market that matters? :derpga:

The other markets combined are much larger than the US and having success in all of them is far better than only being successful in the US. Y&I was a great single choice for the US but it was clearly terrible for the WW market. imo she should have tried a double single release with Scheisse for international markets and Y&I for the US.

Yeah that's a really good choice IMO. It's safe and catchy.

Die Young and C'mon were both the safest choices. If they are going to release a third safe single, they might as well not because it will just put everyone to sleep. She needs to take some risk with this third single.

Crazy Kids is the obvious choice. All That Matters / The Beautiful Life is catchy at first, but like you said it's safe. It gets boring fairly quickly. Supernatural has a wonderful chorus, but the verses aren't the best.

Crazy Kids should have been released already. It needs to be the third choice or they are just throwing away so much potential.
