The fact he’s such a horrible candidate and people are just voting for him because Bernie is too risky disgusting.

Hillary's defeat was decided by 77,000 votes in 3 rust belt states. States she thought she could ignore and not campaign in. Bernie showed up to campaign for her there, but she didn't. And yet Hillary and you still have the audacity to blame Bernie and his supporters for what went down in 2016. Funny!

And that's exactly why I think Biden can win. Also, 6 million third party voters in 2016 compared to less than 2 million in 2012... Largely decrease in black turnout. Including in Wisconsin, a State you mentioned, with a decrease of 20%. And we all know Biden can get the black vote now. Just stay somewhat optimistic. He CAN win. Dems just have to work for it. Unlike Hillary. I agree, she was horrible....

People like you is why Trump won the last time. And y'all had the nerve to call others selfish and stupid. Tisk tisk tisk.

Imagine thinking you don’t have to earn a vote :billie:

Hillary’s trash record and Trump’s outsider promises won him the election, let’s make it click please.

Sanders' message to bring out the youth and Latino vote come November kind of lost appeal when he lost primaries all over the country in large part due to young voters not showing up - apparently, Sanders is not able to energize those either. Generally, general election polls have shown that Biden performs better in swing states than Sanders, because Biden is able to appeal to moderates and black voters while Sanders isn't (and Bernie doesn't compensate that with younger voters and Latino voters).

Are you going to get medicare for all, a green new deal and whatever? No - not under a Sanders presidency, not under a Biden presidency, and not under a Trump presidency. Any Sanders proposal would need backing from senators like West Verginia's Mnuchin (one of the most right-wing states in the US). But anyone besides Trump will make a huge improvement in the lives of millions of Americans. Health care reform will definitely come, leading to an improvement in life for millions of people. Investment in infrastructure will definitely come. You'll have a president that does not support white supremacy. And in fact, changes like this eventually make medicare for all a realistic policy. Anytime a Republican decreases healthcare coverage it brings medicare for all a step further away, anytime a Democrat increases healthcare coverage, it brings medicare for all a step closer (next to saving hundreds of thousands of people's lives, but some 'progressives' think that's not good enough).

I'm a progressive and I support Sanders, but Trump enablers (like you) are just as bad as Trump supporters come November.

A thought experiment: you had to choose between 10 people's lives being saved and 5 people's lives being saved. Of course you'd choose the 10 people. That's what you (hopefully) did by voting for Sanders in the primaries. But now the options have changed, and you can only choose between 10 people being killed or 5 people's being saved. That's what this election is.

Not with that attitude. Most Americans want those things. A public pressure campaign for women’s rights, and civil rights passed. It’s not impossible, it just won’t be easy. Nothing worth it ever is tho.

And if we wanna talk young voters they’re all gonna disappear if Biden gets the nom. That’s the actual relevant story here.

That's also the problem here, it's not about luxury. It's about solidarity with the people suffering from the rise in white supremacist terrorism, with those who can't afford healthcare or those that work two jobs to pay off debts, and can't call in sick. Those people don't have the luxury to choose the path of life they get, and swallowing your pride to vote for a Biden is the least you could do to show your support, even if it's just a symbolic gesture.

Besides, a popular vote win but electoral college loss would, in the long-term, increase the likelihood of electoral reform, and decrease the legitimacy of a Trump presidency from the start.

Um, Biden spent his political career in the 70s as a segregationist. He is to thank for the 1994 Crime Bill that still devastates black and brown communities to this day. It is largely responsible for the current state of criminal justice in this country that desperately needs reform. It pains me to say this, but criminal justice reformation is probably more likely under Trump than Biden.  Obama appointed Biden as VP because he felt it would ease the racist white moderate's anxiety of him.

Healthcare? Biden doesn't believe in universal healthcare. Those who can't afford it now aren't going to be able to afford it under Biden.

Biden... helping Americans... with debt? I have to laugh. That's HILARIOUS. Do you even know who Biden is? Biden is from Delaware, the capitol of credit card companies. If there's anything that defines Biden's political career, it is not being VP, but working to help deregulate credit card companies so that they can screw debt sufferers over more easily. Repeal of the Glass Steagall Act? You can thank Biden for that. Why does bankruptcy no longer cover student debt? Biden! Biden is the KING of credit card company corruption in politics.

The sad part is the average American voter filling in Joe Biden on primary election day is most likely unaware of most if not all of this.

All of the cabinet/appointment talk is pure speculation from people who aren't in the know.

Half of it is obvious (Klobuchar or Harris for VP), the other half is just someone's fantasies (like Dimon for Treasury - not a chance in hell, and that should have tipped you guys off that this list was bunk)

That said we could have FAR worse than any of the picks reported in Axios - and in fact right now we do.

To be exact, if Joe wins he's not going to suddenly gain the Senate. He is going to be making 0 successful Supreme Court appointments. The only thing his presidency would guarantee is Trump being unable to nominate and have a justice confirmed.

What do you mean?! There are tons of Senate seats up for grabs this Fall. The Dems are optimistically predicted to at least make the Senate even again.

Trump's gonna win again (unless the Dems manage to register enough dead people and rig enough early voting ballots)

This is all so disappointing. I’m probably not going out to vote anymore. It’s sad because it would have been my first general election vote and I wanted to be proud of the person I was voting for. I just can’t vote for anyone considering Bloomberg to be electable or intelligent.

I live in California. I'm not moving a finger for Biden on election day. I'll probably participate in local election, though.

Biden is already going to lose, so I hope he loses bad. :interestinga:

If thats what you think, then youre no Bernie fan, at all, as he would be disgusted with you. Hes not a sore loser, he wants the best for the country, and if for you that means that its more important to throw a DNC bad tantrum than to get rid of trump, then dont you dare claim you are part of Bernie's movement, you learned nothing from him.
