RAMROD 109,573
Before and after hiring a good stylist: Ill fitting, wrong dress for the ocassion, looking too pedestrian, too basic, bad mix and matching, etc into fashion icons who highlighting their assets and looking elegant, and chic. You wouldn't think "she looks like a million dollars!" when you saw the before pics, but certainly would on the after pics. This is the power of fashion. It gave the wearer the image they seek. Daylight Jokers 14,958
Celebrities are busy and being a stylist is a job...so that's less unemployed people, which is always a good thing.
Lord Temptation 11,209
They don’t. It all began in the 1990s. Designers would start actively courting Hollywood stars and wannabe stars for the “celebrity front row”. This started happening for two reasons: 1) to ensure that future celebrities were just sheep who would say YES to everything thrown at them instead of exercising a mind of their own and 2) those same celebrities get stuff for free. ChromeAngel 3,230
I think it’s really time consuming to actually get the clothing. Also, won’t most stylists fit and hem the clothing so it fits the celebs body perfectly?

They literally do everything that has any relations to clothes. They are in contact with every major brand/designer and are carefully picking between thousands of pieces. They are responsible for clothes that were given to them and if anything happens to the clothes it’s their fault. They do much more than people think and it’s actually pretty hard to be someone’s stylist. You can have all the talent in the world that is required but if you can’t handle busy/frustrating/nerve wrecking tasks then it’s not for you.. Not to mention most celebs have clothes tailored to them and stylists are in charge of that. That's why a lot of celebs look good in regular clothing. It fits them perfectly A famous name is a brand, stylists are responsible for the visual protection of that brand, I guess. Billionaires are a cancer. Even the ones you like. Red Velvet 10,988
Nah, usually the stylist does it worse. The stylist in K-Pop only does it for red carpet and performances in Korea, idols only dress themselves for TV shows, and foreign events. Blackpink for example: Jisoo with stylist: Jisoo without stylist: Lisa with stylist: Lisa without her stylist: And there are people who still serves with or without. Korean culture is really into fashion -its just part of their culture- and i think they have really a higher sense of it, compared to american stars for example

DeleteMyAccount 11,881
Because of this train wreck... When Melania was on her to visit the children in cages at the border. Stylists are there to stop this. And in Gaga's case, image sets the tone for how people will view her. Like Gaga with the pink hair and new outfits that implicitly told everyone that new music was on the way.

Do you really think they got the designer clothes themselves? Lol a stylist’s job is not just ‘dressing’ a celebrity but doing every possible thing to acquire the clothing. Celebrities don’t actually buy most of the clothing they wear, it’s sourced after sending multiple emails. Stylists (and their assistants) are in charge of that. We have to contact brands, get the clothes, deal with the client (celebrity) and then after they’re done wearing it, dry clean and send it back. She looks more natural and comfortable in her own skin showing her imperfections. Stylists don’t dress for the celebrity. They dress to impress other stylists. There is no individuality. Looking flawless is not always appropriate. I don’t mind stylists for some red carpet events but that’s it. As Gaga said, fashion can be both a form of expression as well as a form of hiding. If you only wear what others tell you to wear, you are clearly hiding.
