Morphine Prince 109,729
Even if you want to go with more gracious polling, 16% voted for McCain over Obama. Higher than the 12% of Sanders supporters who voted for Trump.

I didn't deny that... but let's not dismiss it, if not for votes than for vitriol towards other candidates: Warren, Pete, Biden, etc. Trump provides enough division, Bernie's my way or the highway "us against them" approach isn't doing him any favors. Super Tuesday's underwhelming performance for him was indicative of this. I am not a Biden super fan, but this illusion put forward by many Bernie supporters that he's god-like and passes all purity tests is out of touch and didn't secure him the nomination in 2016 and won't again in 2020. Thats not Bernie's approach you literally have no idea what your talking about. Bernie even just said recently he believe Biden would beat trump. Bernie recently just condemned the hate online that was going towards Warren and welcomed her supporters in open arms.

Exactly the same talking points, even down to the phrasing. Biden did better than initially expected in ST because he got upwards of $100,000,000 of free positive press after SC while Sanders was trashed endlessly in the media as some sort of evil, crazed maniac who would destroy the party AND because every major political actor with any establishment ties in every ST state endorsed Biden right before the election AND nearly every candidate in the race dropped out and endorsed him AND the one other “progressive” candidate in the race stayed in, intentionally syphoning votes from Sanders instead of endorsing him. It’s a miracle that Sanders has been able to accomplish what he’s accomplished with all of that working against him. And you’re trying to claim it’s because his supporters are “mean” online, meaning that they have political principles and will call out other candidates for their godawful records. Only someone completely detached from reality (or doesn’t really mean any of it and just hates Sanders and wants to feel vindicated by lecturing his supporters online) would buy into that nonsense. They sound like robots because they all get there talking points from CNN headlines. Thats why you get the same little info false responses and the same pre existing stereotypes that have been going on since 2015.

More Clinton people in 2008 voted for McCain than Bernie supporters voted for Trump in 2016, even after Clinton flat out smeared us as racist, sexist, homophobic white guys who hate women. There was literally an entire movement of racist white women who voted for Hillary and then organized around opposing Obama: PUMAS (Party Unity My Ass). You know that. Yes, because only seventy four per cent of Sanders supporters voted for someone other than Hillary. Ignoring the facts won’t make them go away. You know that. It takes a different kind of person to jump from Bernie to Trump...or to even vote for Trump in the first place. Everyone knew he was a pathological liar, racist, misogynist and guilty of sexual harassment. The comparison here is ridiculous and you know it! Johnson and Stein were given more attention in 2016 than they should have gotten. They clearly won over some voters. But, More Clinton to McCain voters exist percentage wise than Sanders to Trump. These are the facts. 12% compared to 16%-25% The narrative blaming “Bernie voters” for Hillary’s loss is exaggerated and tired. Yes, Trump was worse than McCain which is why he got less Sanders supporters than McCain got Clinton supporters. Wonder what the excuse will be if Biden loses to Trump. It will be the same, and you know it.

Biden’s gaffes are embarrassing, but neither are in an ideal position to be president... Biden is running off of Obama's legacy. Trump won in part because he constantly trashed that very same legacy. Democrats are in for a surprise if they think they can win with Biden. If Bernie dies during his presidency, the US will not plunge into chaos. It's way too powerful for that. It's just a president not a King.

If Biden, or Bernie, loses the General, the same will hold true. Modern time Incumbent Presidents are historically difficult to beat, and you know it. There is an excuse that has been spewed by unhinged Clinton supporters since 2016 that Trump’s win is Sanders’ supporters fault. Not Clinton’s inefficient campaigning, calling Trump supporters deplorable, or her negative public perception.

There is no excuse for most of this stupid online mess. Trump supporters are deplorable. She didn’t have a negative public perception filing in. It took a massive smear campaign and Russian interference like we’ve never seen before to beat her by the smallest of margins. The smear campaign would have come fast and furious for Bernie. They would have painted him as a dead beat dad, slacker loser until he was forty, on his deathbed, targeted his wife and her stiffing the college, twisted everything into him being an outright communist and published his rape fantasies all over Tv, media, FB, etc. By the time they got through with him, he would have a negative public perception, you know that. The polls say 16-25%, let’s say 80% voted for Obama then, to average it. She DID have a negative public perception. She is one of the most targeted politicians by the GOP. She absolutely did have a lot of stuff coming for her. So far they have done that with Sanders. Democrats have. Big deal.

Yes, she did. You not seeing it is the problem and probably a good reason of why many of us didn’t think it was possible she would lose. But she did. They have.
