Many people are dragging Gaga and her team about the tour because they think they're just being lazy / not being smart. I don't think that's the case at all. As of today, COVID-19 is in 82 countries. It's in almost all European countries and there are 80 cases in the US. This virus is likely to spread even farther if people are not smart about preventing transmission. The Olympics are probably gonna be cancelled, and countries are trying to decrease instances of large numbers of people being crowded together. What events involve large crowds of people being in extremely close proximity to each other? Concerts. Especially massive stadium concerts. I think a large part of why there are only 6 dates is because of the virus. These concerts are taking place in July and August. 4-5 months from now. Who knows how bad the disease will be by then? Best case scenario, by then the vaccine is finished and the virus is eradicated. Worst case scenario, many more people have the disease and the world comes to a standstill until the virus passes. They only announced 6 dates because if they do end up cancelling, it will be less of a blow to them and to Live Nation. I imagine that if the virus stops spreading (or the spread slows down considerably) then we could see anywhere from 10-20 more dates being added in Europe, US, Australia and Brazil. Maybe these dates would taking place during winter in indoor stadiums or maybe they'll wait till Spring/Summer of 2021... but I certainly DO see them adding more dates. It's obvious that it's intended to promote the album, just like what Harry Styles did with Fine Line. Why do any shows anywhere? If the situation with the virus was that bad, she wouldn't do any tour.
