StrawberryBlond 14,577 Posted March 4, 2020 Share Posted March 4, 2020 As Katy is rumored to be releasing new music soon, let's remember this disastrous meme-able performance that heralded in the Witness era: But according to what commenters are saying beneath, apparently, the performance is what it was because it was originally going to involve drag queens and Migos weren't comfortable performing with them. Katy subsequently had to amend the performance at the last minute though we're not sure exactly how far it went. The back up dancers were likely drafted in last minute and look very awkward. And Katy doing those bizarre moves when Migos climbed on the table look so improvised probably because it was. If this was really why it had the outcome it did, that's really sad that her planned performance was sabotaged and I now look at it not as a singer with extremely poor direction delusionally believing she's doing good...but as a singer who had to change plans at the last minute and is trying to desperately make the best of it. Apparently, she had a panic attack before this performance too. Knowing how much she seemed to fall apart after this makes you look at it all differently. Right before one of her performances (can't remember if it was "Swish Swish" or "Bon Apetit"), she was freaking out seconds before she was supposed to go on because her in-ear monitors weren't working.
