Beto :saladga:

You're not doing Texas proud :saladga:

I wonder how many young, liberal college students will feel about this. Here (at least in my University), I saw a lot of support for him in 2018. I wonder if people will change their minds...I mean, he seemed more progressive than moderate, right? Or am I just remembering things wrong? I could've seen him endorsingย Bernie.ย

It a country where Donald Trump won... it's better to endorse a moderate... Middle America is not coming out for Bernie. Bernie supporters are coming out for Bernie. Sad, but true. We all want progressive values... but we need a stepping stone. When the partisan pendulum swings far to the left, after Bernie, it's going to swing far to the right. Bernie has good values, but I don't see it happening for him.ย

Biden was the last person I wanted to win when this entire thing started a year ago, to think that heโ€™s now my number one choice.ย :messga:

He was just A) better than cruz  and B) kinda a daddy.

ย

That was his main appeal. Not his policies. He probably wouldn't have even endorsed Biden if the DNC hadn't forced him too.

Bernie has proven that he's able to get moderates and independents. In fact, he's the candidate that isย most likelyย  to sway those voters. I mean, there's a reason why independents are, well,ย independent.ย They don't subscribe to either Democrats or Republicans. Bernie is an independent after all...

He ran as a progressive - in Texas. But seeing him in the presidential race, it doesn't surprise me he's supporting Biden.

I voted for Beto in 2018 because he was absolutely the best thing - for Texas. I would not support him in a presidential race. He did well stepping down early. But he could have done better had his campaign not been a mess.ย

You do realize people have said we need โ€œstepping stonesโ€ to get where Bernie is since FDR left office over 70 years ago, right? The idea you just posted is what is actually preventing the progress Bernie is trying to make happen. The notion of โ€œno we canโ€™t have nice things bc some people might not be ok with that.โ€ย

Meanwhile Trump crushed the Republican establishment in 2016, moved the GOP to the far-right while at the same time satisfying the establishment.

Democrats just can't do anything bold apparently. We need to stay in line and just take whatever the other side does.ย

News flash. Bernie does well in the electoral vote rich states of the Midwest and did better in the heartland than HRC in 2016. Routinely gets around 20% of republican votes in Vermont. Keep trying it.ย
